Live chat..where has it gone?
Seems no-one is ever in the chat rooms anymore??

I've noticed the same thing.
My new satellite system is a little touchy when it comes to logging into Chat...sometimes I'm in right aways , sometimes it takes Java 5 minutes to load, sometimes I can't get in at all.
I'm having the same problem logging into my hotmail account [ in case some of you were wondering ]....
I would usually only go into chat for 10 minutes at a time, so if it takes 4 or 5 minutes just to log in...I just figure i'll do it when I have an hour...which with my job is seldom these days.
But I have noticed that the Lobby has been rather vacant.

with the growing popularity of mobile devices, and the fact that the chat software is not very mobile friendly, i think that has partial blame. and i know that there was a few issues with the Windows 8 Java update too. i can remember when i first joined (a long time ago, 6, maybe 7 yrs ago) any given you'd see 8, 9, 10, aww hell one night there was 25 of us in the lobby...that was a blast, but it was hard to keep up...almost needed a speed reading course that night...hopefully soon, things will change for the better, and it'll slowly build up intensity again...

Yep. Happy Hour was M-F and started at 5 PM Eastern and went on for hours. There were probably a dozen regulars that would pop in at some point, as well as several others that would come in just to see what was going on

It is a combination of things as you have said. LNH has hit the biggest issue. Ipad, cell phone and alike can't use the chat so many people gave up and use alternative ways of live chat now. Summer is also notoriously slow.Then you have the fact that we seem to have lost many of our regulars. I know I have just been so busy.Maybe after my sons wedding I will have more time.

People and the internet have changed rapidly over the past decade. The internet in general is no longer this new wonderous thing, it's just a common utility now.
People do not have the attention span any more for sitting down and typing whole sentences, people don't want to have whole back and forth conversations any more, they just want those quick abreviated texts.
It is a shame, all sites of all types are suffering in the forum and chat departments

We did spend hours in there, It was a lot of fun. Hopefully we can get that back sometime soon.

i'd still love it if we could have a chat reunion of sorts. get the old gang (as well as newer members) Falls, Ma & Pa, Nrg, Julianna, Myself,Brit, JCSOS (as he was known back in the day), Amberzed, and anyone else that i forgot. but i highly doubt we'll ever get that line up back on and in chat at the esame time
