Women are the best help
Bar None. The woman I have had for ranch help are by far the best. I had two sisters, Missouri farm girls that were great help. They will never abuse an animal, If they don't know something they will ask. Running equipment if they hear a strange noise or see something not quite right, they will shut down and come and get you to check it out. They were both better ropers than me, and they would ride anything. They asked me if my team of Percherons were broke to ride, I said I don't know in a bit here they came each riding one. We had more fun and got more work done than having three guys. If they had to pee just turn your back cuz they were going.
Sara is a Border Patrol Agent now. Annie is a hot shot fire
person for the forest service. Loved them both. OCB

Every word posted here is a fact.
Sometimes the best Cowboys, aren't Cowboys at all.
One thing I'd like to add is that they will very rarely challenge your authority, unless they are absolutley certain they are right, then all hell breaks loose.
If she stands up to me, which is rare, I step back and listen, and it becomes very apperant that my skull is a little thicker that day.
She knows when she is over her head, and is quick to ask for advice or help, she works smarter and harder than me sometimes, and she knows although my respect doesn't come easy, she always has it.
She will not cross into my personal affairs unless invited to do so, and I find that if she likes the girl that I may be talking too at the time, her judgements are well founded, and accurate, and she always has my best interests in mind.
The one thing I have to watch is when she is dating a guy, I have to remember that it's none of my business, and not to be over protective....But be there for her if it doesn't end well.

Yesterday my cowgirl and I were working on a calf outside of a sorting pen, which was my bright idea.
After we were done I said " You got him ?"....and I let my end go, She lost her grip and we spent an hour chasing the little guy around the barn yard.
I don't think I've heard anyone...Not a Sailor, Miner , Biker or Trucker , say the word "Fuck" so much. At one point she was so mad ,I was thankful I outweigh her by almost a 100 pounds, and my sense of self preservation kicked in enough , not to utter a single word.

Why is it women prefer me when I stop talking ?
No shit ,there was this horse trainer, and she wanted to have me over for a dinner party to stand in the corner, facing out with my hands in my pockets.
I asked her "What would you like me to do ?" She said "Nothing just don't talk ,and stand there and look pretty "
So I said "Well what if i get bored "...She replied "Your talking again !"

I can't be certain , but I believe she said that to me on her second week here on the Ranch...It involved a hot branding iron ,tested on a piece of thick cardboard....I didn't think it would burn through so quickly....It seems I used my old Chev ranch truck for support, or as a backing..So I have a brand burned onto my front passenger fender.
As I recall my new employee did use the word "Dumbass" when she refered to me.

It's got four different colours of paint, rust holes , fencing and barn floor plans scratched in the side of it with a nail, scratches from horns and hooves ,dents both big and small, a chainsaw scar on the hood, and four bullet holes...Oh!!! and a branding mark.
Needless to say, it's not even registered to run on a public road.

at least no one will steal it, if they do, THEY'll be called the true dumbasses...and it's got your mark on it for identification purposes, that is why you did that to begin with, right?
