Re: what cha watching now?
Missed a couple of Vikings episodes, gotta catch up on that.
The second season of "The Curse of Oak Island" won't start till fall, the whole Oak Island thing is really fascinating.
"Naked and Afraid" is pretty cool

Re: what cha watching now?
I recently got this little device that looks like a junk drive that plugs into an HDMI port in the back of the television. It allows your wireless device to broadcast to your TV via a Google app and I've been OD'ing on things from youtube. In some cases, music videos, but there's so many documentaries, biographies and full concerts on there. Ive been a youtube fan for years, but it's s whole different experience on a big screen and going through the home theater system for audio. You can even control the volume, playback, pause and start right from your wireless device

Re: what cha watching now?
I've watched a bit of the Mantracker, kinda like it. I don't watch the news either, it's just too much...I just go online once a day and get the CNN headlines and that's more than enough for me.
Anthony Bourdain's show are pretty good.

I am able to view some decent, and some not so decent movies during the day. I watched 4 of the Indiana Jones movies. He was thirty-nine at the time of his first Indiana movie. He was fifty-six at the time of the later.
Some rather campy movies. "The Last Dragon", "Earth Girls Are Easy".
I watch history and nature shows.

Re: what cha watching now?
I have a T.V. in my shop..actually I have three of them, one over my work bench thats 32", one over my forge thats 40 ", and one over my woodworking tools thats 50 ". I have them wired to a light switch so I hit the power and they all flash on...The sattelite receiver is almost stuck on History, I more listen to it when I'm working in there.
Unless I find a movie like The Last Samurai,or an episode of Hell on Wheels, or Deadwood.
I will say I'm almost addicted to Mantracker..Plenty of the sites they use are around here, or I know where they are.I even met one of his sidekicks, an Native Indian fellow from the Northern Interior here.

Re: what cha watching now?
i don't have any tv service here, can't afford cable, and my apartment is on the wrong side of the building to get anything with an antenna, even a digital one. so i rarely watch normal tv. when i do, it's what ever is on in the break room at work, usually some sort of sports. at home, i do watch a few shows on the internet, but nothing on a regular basis. i do have a tv set, and when my kids are here, we watch a lot of movies on DVD. every once in a while, i'll pop a DVD or VHS in and watch something. like right now, i found moms old Woody Woodpecker DVD....

Re: what cha watching now?
DIY channel has a show called "Renovation Realities"
It's inexperienced homeowners doing their own renovations...of course they focus on the mistakes and mishaps. Pretty good entertainment. Especially what follows after you hear "I've never actually done this before but I watched some videos an the internet..."

Could you imagine if that was a new cartoon that come out with that name in this day and age? There's be group after group filing lawsuits for such a sexist title, parents claiming that their kids were traumatized and offended by the title, religious groups issuing fatwahs and PETA, Atheists and NOW would probably get in on it too. I'm pretty sure that Wile E, Coyote, Bugs Bunny and Jerry (from Tom and Jerry) would also be sued for being bullies.
Man, we live in a world full of dumb asses.

Man, we live in a world full of dumb asses. yup, that's what's wrong with the world today, not enough violent cartoons. we ALL watched them. Tom & Jerry, Looney Tunes, Woody Woodpecker, and Under Dog. and we all got spanked when we deserved it too. and for the most part, we all turned out as fairly good people.

.....I am right ?.....I'm going to put on my football helmut to protect my noggin',take a walk, and do some thinking on that.

I kinda like that show "Diggers" ... those 2 guys that find artifacts with their metal detectors. That's something I could get into. Other than that I don't watch a lot of TV. I've been spending more time playing the mandolin

Re: what cha watching now?
I love documentaries. The novel "Lonesome Dove" characters are based on real life cowboys, Oliver Loving, and Charles Goodnight.
Loving was a 51 year old cowboy. He and the younger Goodnight planned a 140 mile cattle drive to Ft. Sumter. By skirting around Apache territory, they had to endure a raging river, (most cowboys did not know how to swim), deadly snakes, and 80 miles of terrain without water.
To survive the lack of water, they drove the cattle day and night.
The story goes, Loving and a cowhand went ahead to negotiate the cattle sale. Loving and the one armed cowhand were approached by Apaches. When pinned in a raven, Loving was shot in his left wrist, which very quickly became infected. Loving held up for 3 days while the cowhand went for help. Loving then escaped and went down river. The water further assisted in the infection of his left wrist.
Goodnight found the one armed now delirious cowhand walking in the prairie. He then headed to Ft. Sumter and located Loving.
Gangrene infected Loving's left hand. His arm was amputated and 3 days later, on 9/25/1867, he died. Before his death, he made Goodnight promise to return him to his home for his final resting place.
It also mentioned the cowboy life was hard. Earning about a dollar a day. Meals consisted of coffee and beans. They seldom owned their own horse. The one thing they did own was their saddle, which could of cost them up to a month's salary. And, a cowboy hat which distinguished them as a cowboy. It was used to fan fires, scoop water, alert a horse. Not just any hat. In 1865, the Stetson cowboy hat was invented.
Did I get the story right?

Re: what cha watching now?
Yes Darling ..that was 100% accurate....
And to you, a line from Lonesome Dove....and what was carved on the sign that was on the Hat Creek Cattle Companies front gate, it was also the inspiration for the book and movie.

I watch it sometimes too...but those two guys are a bit over the top. Travel Channel has got two metal detecting shows too, Dig Wars and Digger Fellas.
