more frogs?
my favorite bait for bass fishing is frogs. one day i was out hunting for some bait, and saw a huge frog, but it was lodged in the mouth of a rattlesnake. knowing that the snake couldn't bite me with a frog in its mouth, i grabbed it right behind the head. using a stick, pried the frog loose and put it in my bucket. now i had a new problem. how do i let the snake go, without getting bit. using my quick wit, i promptly grabbed my bottle of Jack Daniels, and poured about a quarter of it down the snakes throat. the snakes eyes rolled in back, and his body went limp. i dropped him and went on my way. a few minutes later, i felt something brush my leg. it was that damn snake, this time he had two frogs in his mouth...

In honor of the Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee, May 15-18. One of Mark Twain's stories is celebrated here in California shortly, though the story came after the event.
