Summer camp
Did anyone else ever go to any kind of summer camp when they were young?
I went several summers to a Baptist church camp. Yeah, it was a church camp but we were young and rowdy.
I remember being tipped off not to rush in and try to claim a bunk in the girls bunkhouse but to lag a bit and the overflow girls would get put up in the little old country church basement with no camp supervisors...so we ran amuck.

No. No summer camp. Girl Scouts is the closest I came to summer camp. I do believe we camped out once. We slept in bunk beds. Nothing rowdy. I did that the other 364 days a year.

the closest i came to that was when i was in 6th grade, the whole 6th grade class went to a wilderness camp in northern Minnesota. we learned how to cross country ski, snow shoe, build a campfire. we also learned how to track animals in the snow. i don't really remember much of what they taught us though. my biggest memory of that was sleeping in the Army barracks. i got a bottom bunk. i woke early one morning, and as i was laying in bed, i looked over and saw one of the teachers (and camp counselors) getting up to get ready for the day it was only about 4 am. so i'm pretty sure i was one of the only others awake. as i looked across the hall, i saw that he slept naked..not exactly what a 6th grade boy needs to see...one of his teachers naked. (and the boys and girls were in separate quarters) had it been co-ed, and it been a female teacher, that would have been different...lol

we had no camp, had the cub scouts my son too, the church had pioneers too, that became a conflict too, everything for the church, seemed to be a factor of greed there.

Being raised in a very religious home .. it went without saying that my brothers & I went to bible camp every year until I left home. Yeah there was a few hours of bible study... but most of the day was softball games& volleyball.. ect. and like chazzy... at night a few of us would sneak out & see what mischief we could get into

I lost my virginity at church camp when I was 15, went every year that but never happened again. OCB

good question must of been the wife, and she hasn't puked lately In my lap.... remember Oscar recalled 66,000 lbs of them hot dogs due to the labeling

yep, they put cheese hot dogs into non cheese labeled packages, the recall was to make sure that some one who's allergic to cheese didn't eat them by mistake.

I knew several Pastors daughters...They were Born Again Virgins....I lived in the mountains as a child so I was always camping, and disappearing for weekends all by myself.
It seemed pointless to my parents to pay for it.

...... Really? Did you sneak out & go skinny dipping too? And yes we got busted. This girl I met there started snaking out at night , then one night we decided skinny dipping sounded fun..& it was..( not THAT much fun. That was as risky as she was willing) but we both got busted sneaking back in... wet & smelled like lake water. When my counselor told the girls counselor about catching me..m she told him about a girl that she caught that was also wet from lake water... about the same time...BUSTED

that water does have its smell I know when we come back from fishing and the lake we are busted by the cats,they all give us a good sniff down,then my old man black kitty would be where's the fish? he aways help cleaning them.
