You've got a lot of miles left to ride in that saddle. Everything you said here means that you're not riding off into the sunset yet, so dont go walkin toward the light. Besides, I'm lookin forward to reading that book!

Free's right....You keep your powder dry, you horny fucker , that Spirit Horse is still a ways off ,your spur isn't going to run the nail yet..and I'm not that good to you , I just treat people the way they treat me, and we've always had an unspoken understanding..I have learned much from wise old cowboys like yourself, and their quiet ways. I know thousands of people, but I have a handful, ..that I will call friend.

Re: just feelin good
OCB you have accepted death, which is what allows you to LIVE your life. Too many put off living, always expecting a tomorrow. Waiting until the world is right, until they have enough time, enough money - Meanwhile life passes them by.
I do not know you well but you seem to be a man of character, and I don't think you have too many saddle sores to hang in for a bit more of the ride - I hope I get a chance to read your book, I suspect it will be of a life well lived.

Re: just feelin good
Hi Chazzy The bear roping was real popular in California when they were under Spanish rule the Charos would do it for a number of reasons when there were Grizzlies there, it is now Illegal. We did it just to teach this bear a lesson and keep from raiding the chicken house, we didn't want kill or hurt him. The thing is about doing you really have trust in you partner if one of you miss the bear will go right the up the rope. You also want to be sure of the horses you are riding, one that won't leave you sitting with a bear on the end of you rope. OCB
We had to catch an emu one time now that is whole different story. Bye

Re: just feelin good
Well, the only chicken coop invaders I had to worry about were black snakes, the neighbor's toothless egg sucking beagle and once had a mink wipe out a fair amount of my hens. Trapped the mink and his beautiful chocolate colored fur brought me enough cash to restock the coop with some fine leghorns.

Re: just feelin good
Whenever I see a bear, it's usually coming right at me..Had one run right under my horses legs once and grab my Ridgeback. He was right on top of him, and the bear looked up and saw how damn big the horse was , and in the next instant , took off running. Didn't have time to grab a rope or even my gun...The impressive thing was, the Dog shook it off and was O.K....and that damn horse didn't spook at all. He just planted his feet when I yelled "STAND!" and everyone was O.K....I still shake my head over that one.
