Today I dealt with mountains of bullshit...I spread manure on my large pasture for half the day, cleaning out the wintering pens down to dirt...Then a politician showed up, wanting to tell me how great clear cutting timber is, and how much employment it created....Then things really started to stink around here....What a full of shit Carpet Bagger !

The term Hillbilly isn't used in Canada, we call ourselves Mountain People, and you refer to a family as..for example.."The Cable Family from Carson Mountain"..or refer to whom they are by their Ranch Brand. What I find interesting is that in the Gold rush, Americans and Europeans passed through here, and saw the potential grasslands as Ranches or Farms, took Native Indian wives and settled here. When you find an old homestead, and there are many, you can see the European and American skills brought with them from their homelands ,in the timber framing and logwork.Those families remain there to this day, on their large pieces of land, and although they seem to live a simple life in a quiet and peaceful way,..they almost all have an inner strength and pride of who they are, and where they came from....There are some who have only seen pictures of large cities, and consider "Going to town" as getting supplies that are two hours away , in a town with 4 stores and a Post Office.

That happened once to me and a young woman I was with, I was about 19 or so, and a cop approached the back window, and ordered us out of the backseat....Turns out the police officer was her dads best friend...Whoops..
