Another B.C. boy moves to Florida..
Our beloved Goal tender Roberto Luongo, from the Vancouver Canucks has been traded to the Florida Panthers...and our great white northern province is in mourning......What is it about Florida that draws men away from here ? I was told his wife is from that state....Is it possible that the women are hotter there...or perhaps more accepting of men with questionable dental work, pale white skin , lumberjack biceps, and a love for banging sticks on ice.. I wonder how he will adapt to hockey rinks that actually have to be refridgerated,...you see here by October...we just open the windows and in 24 hours we have a hockey rink.. It's a sad day when a man has to go to a Florida hockey game, or hang out in the freezer isle of the Miami supermarket to catch some pronounced nipple viewing... In my country its a national passtime, and a God given right.

Well Luongo is a hockey player,..so unlike me I always assumed he's not much of a thinker, but I'm starting to think my judgement of him may have been to harsh. Are there any cattle ranches for sale in Florida.?...I figure I'd save a fortune in not having to buy snow boots, and fuel for cutting fire wood....But I'm not ever wearing shorts.

Not sure about cattle ranches. I have seen a few horse ranches for sale in FL.

Selling my horses would be to traumatic...I've done it, and it doesn't sit well with me...They have a way of working into your heart. There isn't any mountains in Florida for me to take my bearings ,and know where I am...and I suppose they wouldn't let me drive the cows down any paved streets to auction either. On the positive side, there are probably a few more Bars to select from ,than I'm used too now ...and grass grows all year round , so I may get rid of my farmer tan during haying season.

Take the horses with you. As far as getting your bearings in FL, It's not that far from the east side to the west. Build a tall portable tower and stand on it. If built correctly, you should be able to see both coasts. I didn't know you could drive cattle. You are probably correct as they aren't street legal. No seatbelts, bumpers, windows.

Ya, but no window wipers There called a cowboy hat, and slicker...We are a little behind the times, and low tech here....I still heat my house with a chainsaw, and axe. Nice thing about horses is you don't need a headlight..they always find their way home..Of course you get rubbed by a few unseen Fir branches because you can't see them coming.

Well if you walk around naked in Florida they arrest you. So I couldn't grab my morning firewood with nothing on, or take a leak off my back porch ? I'm not sure if I could adapt that fast....I see some serious charges in my near future. I suppose the Police wouldn't have a sense of humour about me sighting in my rifle ,out front of the house either ?

QUOTE (Iwant2kssuallovr @ March 8, 2014, 19:58)You know, it really depends where in Florida. My 7mm mag. will send a projectile 5 or 6 miles, but its only accurate for a mile and a half..I can walk to my barn, and go to the spot where i'm going to build my second house in a few years ,and see for 100 miles...6 or 7 peaks rise in the distance...with not one light shining at night. There are no street lights, bus service, or garbage pick up..The nearest park for kids to play is out my back door...It could be 1 million acres or 2 million, I have no idea, but it has some massive clearcuts running through the middle of it.I get along with my neighbors very well, because I don't have any, the nearest grocery store is 80 klms.away....It's pretty easy to upgrade from where I'm at.

The branches aren't bad except when they get your face. Wear a full face helmet--insulated for winter of course.
