It's just matter of time
I am writing a book about a wonderful dog i had and the years we spent together 24/7. I have a terminal illness so i thought i should set down some things for folks to remember me by.
i never thought i would live this long and i don't know why. The lord has spared me when i should be dead. I get into writing and sometimes i feel 16 again. i have lived a life that i would never replace. i have seen things and done things that no other can match.Tractor the dog have saved each lives several times we had a love that will never be matched. We lived 24/7 for nine years, their were times i though he would. but times that he came an layed with me cause i was gonna die but i didn't. Samib has been a great help to me doing this i love her almost as much as my dog.
but please sit down and relive some of your life there are great times that have just been set aside for a while. OCB

Re: It's just matter of time
I love that you are puttin' it down with your writing. Something about writing, it's seems so beneficial whether published or not, it's just a good outlet.
I hate to think that you may be leaving us behind any time too soon...and we've lost several over the years on this site and it's always, always too soon.
We love ya

Re: It's just matter of time
Evening sunset paints up the sky
In pastel colors unknown
And fire light shadows
Dance in his mind
The cowboy rides off alone
His bridle and spurs
Still hang on the wall
His saddle,.. it's still on the stand
Some think he's crazy, or out of his mind
He's someone they can't understand
For he knew the trails when the mountains where new
The Grandeur of river and sky
Searching for a home, that he never knew
Till he smelled the wind in the pines
You see eighty four winters have now passed him by
And He's eighty five come June
And He used to listen ,to the wolves howl at night
And he wonders will he join them soon
You see his mind can no longer shuffle the cards
That hold his memories
But sometimes the wind
It will deal him a hand
And he smiles at what he can see
For he knew the trails when the mountains where new
The grandeur of river and sky
Searching for a home, He never knew..
Till he smelled the wind in the pines
I went to see him, just one last time
Before they took him away
And He looked at me through the ages of time
And He smiled as I heard him say...
"Soon I will ride, where the star herds now roam
Up with the rest of my kind..
And you will know
I found my home
When you smell the wind in the pines.."
Now I'm here, standing beside his grave
You see we buried him today
And I'll never know the trails that he rode
He's part of the past, gone away..
Then a breeze whispers, from out of the west
And plants a seed in my mind
Then I know, that he's found his rest
Because I smell the wind in the pines.....
For he knew the trails when the mountains were new
The grandeur of river and sky
Searching for a home ,that he never knew
Till he smelled the wind in the pines...
Till I smell ...the wind in the pines..

Re: It's just matter of time
writing is a great way to open up your heart. OCB I am just getting to know you, and I am a slow learner when it comes to men of worth, so you need to stick around for a bit and let me get the chance to know you better. I have always trusted the judgement of my dogs, they are far better at knowing good character, looking forward to your book

Re: It's just matter of time
Writing is a good release. I'm sure that your relatives will appreciate what you wrote for them. Sorry you're having such problems though.
