Thats right we don't, but it does prevent you from picking unwanted flu like symptoms...
When you wear a hat, the comfort is all in the fit.....not to big, so any sudden movements doesn't make it slip off at an inappropriate moment.
And not to small so the critical amount of circulation thats needed , isn't cut off.
Never stick a feather , or hat pin in your hat....they create a hole, and the seal is broken, rendering them defective.
You can also get a hat with an elastic band around the brim, to compensate for an ever changing environment, and making them useful for any occasion that.....arises....or presents itself.

ya I just hate chasing my hat and dog, but I hate the most is riding my Harley and jamming my brakes cause me hat blew off and have to do a U-ie and go get it.

There's many people that should wear hats with expandable (elastic) headbands. Truck drivers wear 'em so when they talk and start bragging, their head can still fit.

well if ya got a swelled head...let a little air out, that's what I do .... 
oh my leather hat must need some neats foot on it or something just don't sit right any more stiff
