They Didnt Lie This Time
Well, the Meteorologists got it right this time. The NYS Thruway is closed from the PA line all the way past Rochester. Schools and businesses are closed, driving bans and states of emergency in pretty much every city, town and village, and sustained winds over 35 mph equals minus 30 wind chill. And this thing is just hanging right over us and not budging. Supposed to be like this for another 24 hours. And just a few miles north of here, sunshine and blue skies. Welcome to Buffalo Winters. The good news is that it's supposed to be almost 50 on Sunday.

i hear ya, we will reach 2 above zero for the high today compared to the -20's we had the past few days, it's a heat wave, could hit 30 by Sunday. break out the shorts and bbq grills.

Ya know, I've only been to Minnesota once. It was in February and I was amazed to see people in sweatshirts and shorts. I asked the cabbie what the deal was with that and he looked at me and just as serious as a heart attack, he said "Its always like this once it gets over 30"

last week i was driving down the street here, it was snowing and about 10 above. drove by my old landlords place, he was out shoveling in shorts and a hooded sweatshirt.

Ok, here's one for my sarcastic snarkiness. I wound up turning off the local news because they kept saying that with the extreme cold, the City has opened up warming shelters for those that needed them and for locations, check out their website. Now Im just guessing that anyone who needed a warming shelter probably didnt have access to a television, much less, the internet.

I have to agree with that. Stupid news people.. I thinking that the local police have been out telling and perhaps even taking people to those shelters.

Don't worry Free. Warmer weather is on it's way. Of course ya know how that goes. Warmer weather means snow. Lots and lots of snow.

It warmed up to -2 today....thats 30 degrees in American......Time to break out the sundress....

One thing I can say I don't miss the weather out that way... I grew up in the mid-west. Hope everyone is staying nice and warm... Hmmmm....Just wondering, babyboom in October I suppose...

Yes,... due to the Arctic outflow ,there may be a fair bit of bumping ugly friction going on, in order to produce the necessary body heat to stay comfortable......otherwise called the Eskimo factor..
This has been a public service announcement from the Canadian Broadcast System......in case anyones listening ! Which we here at CBS highly doubt.
