if i uninstall Lightscribe from my computer would it have any affect on the performance of my machine? i never use it, because the discs are hard to find around here, and kind of expensive.

Re: random question for all you techs and geeks...
yeah, when i bought this computer new back in 2010, i thought it was the coolest thing ever, instead of having chicken scratch written with a sharpie, and smearing all over, you could actually have it scribed through your computer, until after about month, when i realized that it wears off fast, and is hard to read. and i haven't burned a cd for a couple of years now, with the invention of the mp3 players and ipods/ipads, i'm pretty sure that cd's are going the way of cassettes and records..

assuming you are running Windows. it will not hurt a thing. I had it like you never used it, just delete the software. There should be an uninstall program in the software

If you use the UNINSTALL then you should not have an issue. Its when people do it other ways that they run into problems. Also remember that deleting the icon does not delete the program. I am not saying that to be insulting. I say that because many people don't realise that deleting the icon has nothing to do with the program itself.
