Def Leppard Law Suit
Def Leppard suing One Direction...just the latest law suits from a musician/band/song writer who claims that someone elses song is too similar to theirs...
Anyone compared the songs in question? I really haven't bothered. Some songs are kinda formula based anyway so there's always been a lot of similarities.
There are "typical" song types too, the typical teen anthem, typical rock anthem, typical love ballad,j etc...
I remember a long time ago thinking a new Shania Twain song was nearly identical (to me) to an older Blondie classic.

Writers are bound to trip over eachother from time to time. There's a finite number of chords and notes to work with.

Holy Crap!
If a One Direction song was similar to one of mine I'd just be bloody embarrassed; I certainly wouldn't want to draw attention to it...

Re: Def Leppard Law Suit
Agreed. But ponder this - One Direction is hot right now. People are looking up what songs they are, listening and comparing. Its all done online, so they're both getting more traffic drawn to their respective pages and selling more music and more ads. I think it's a brilliant move. The fact that we're talking about it is proof

The only proof I'm interested in is on the side of the bottle.
