New Toy
Well, I just got the mandolin and ukelele that I ordered last week during the Black Friday Sale at Guitar Center. Now I just have to teach myself how to play them. This is gonna be interesting. Hopefully they'll have the same kinda sale on 6 string banjos for Christmas.

Cool. Not as much room for fingers on the strings?

Re: New Toy
I think you'll like the mandolin, I've enjoyed mine, I love the sound of a mandolin, . The banjo was tougher to learn, you have to learn how to "pick with 3 fingers " as opposed to strumming like a guitar. It took me some time to get used to the bigger strings on my baritone guitar too, but I just love the bold rich sound of the baritone.

Yeah, gettin' all cocky about that eh? I've got a cousin with a 7 year old who's been playing mandolin in her family's bluegrass band since she was four.

I thought that was you! Camped out in front of the Guitar Center for Black Friday, hoping to get a deal on a ukulele?! Yeah it made national news too, as to the silliest thing anyone would camp out waiting for.

Re: New Toy
Sorry Big Guy, but you'd never see my sorry, white ass doing something like that. Ordered the stuff online and had it delivered to my front door with free shipping. If ya factor in the cost of gasoline, I probably saved $10 by not going to the store

Re: New Toy
I'm with you Free, I hate going to malls. Especially around the holidays. If I go shopping I most likely am going for something specific. I get it and I get out. I HATE WAITING ON LINES!!!!. I do most of my shopping online. There is one exception. I can go shoe shopping and more precisely Boot shopping and never get tired as long as I can buy.If I have no money its depressing so why torture myself.I try to finish holiday shopping by Aug-Sept.I also almost never pay full price. It just irritates me to pay full price.
By the way Free there is a Book trilogy about the Beatles that came out that is supposed to be amazing. They were talking about it as a holiday gift and the guy reviewing it said he was shocked how good and detailed it was.If you hadn't heard of it I wanted to bring it to your attention. Its called,"Tune In: The Beatles: All These Years"

I seem to remember her saying something about having rechargable batteries..nothing better than a girl that goes green for an orgasm..although I suppose there is a slight amount of noise pollution, when she turns the big ones on high....
