SAVE the TA-TAS
Well it has to be said, after all it IS breast cancer awareness month. I am seriously considering getting shirts printed up that say: Squeeze the boobies, it could be a matter of life and death. . . .

Re: SAVE the TA-TAS
I like the t-shirt idea!! It could save a lot of slaps in the face!
But personally, although I agree with and support the effort, I really wish they would change the name of the drive. Breast cancer awareness month? To raise "awareness" about breast cancer? Really? Who the hell isn't "aware" of breast cancer? I suggest "breast cancer eradication month" or something like that.

Its definitely a worthy cause, I've lost 2 cousins to the devastating disease, & I know thousands of women have suffered.

Re: SAVE the TA-TAS
I am on board with you there Free - but a lot of women REALLY don;t get the whole importance of Squeeze the Boobie thing. Perhaps I will go on a personal mission to teach all of you men how to Squeeze the boobies for exams - what the hell might as well have fun with it while you are checking!!
AND what a great pick up opportunity for you guys - hey can I do your monthly breast exam for you

Re: SAVE the TA-TAS
So here's a question. How often is a woman supposed to get a manual breast exam at the doc's office?
Male docs seem to be of the mind as often as possible and the women docs are only if ya have to. And personally I would just as soon have a professional's hands on the vulnerable parts as often as necessary.
So I'm wondering...what is the current medical recommendation?

Physical exam once a year by your doctor after 40, mammogram every two and a half years, here in Canada.
Mammograms are inaccurate in women under 35 because of thicker breast tissue,...if you are on hormone therapy of any kind , before going on it you should learn your lumps and examine them every three weeks.
Breast cancer has 4 Different types of tumours[I think thats right} ..and are hormone driven or estrogen positive...
If a benign lump suddenly gets bigger , or your breast becomes sore , an ultra sound is effective enough in determing if some action should be taken.
If the ultra sound has suspicious results, a needle biopsey is done to determine what cells are present, and if it has matastisized, or spread outside of the host tumour.
Surgery is peformed using a dye to make the borders of the tumour and mark the first 5 lymphnodes for removal and examination..
Anything under 1.5 centimeteres or a half inch is usually radiation and 5 to 10 years of hormone blocking therapy to kill any random cells that may have escaped.
Anything over 1.5 centimeteres is radiation ,kemo therapy, and hormone therapy for up to ten years..
If the tumour is over 2 centimeteres and matastisized a full masectomy is recommended..and all three follow up treatments are required..
So you'd best get checked to catch it as early as possible...it's all in the size of the tumour.

Someone I know is going through that right now...if something threatens your life , you must know your enemies terrain, and know your prey...and I know that sounds a little creepy,.. but it's how I'm wired.
..and yes i'm very much a hardcore boob guy...and I didn't want to be a downer on your thread here..but Jen asked a legit question, and I happened to know the answer , at least the answers for the situation I found myself in about 4 months ago.
..and I'm all for saving the worlds Ta-Ta's...to quote someone else here...Once you've seen one set,...you want to see them all.
