show your age
We recently moved and finding things we had forgotten about. I found a pair of Tenny Lamas that I had, who knows.

Re: show your age
I haven't moved for a long time....but when the ex backed up to the door with the horse trailer to move herself out....I found a whole lot of boxes I didn't know I had,...and found them in record time.
Damn ...I really miss that trailer.

Re: show your age
I am afraid to see what is in my attic. Or I should say what is left. Between the water damage since the storm and the fact that Raccoons have been living up there, I image there wont be much in that attic that is worth more than the effort to throw it in the trash. To be honest there are only a few things that I really care about. I have some childhood stuff, some stuff from when my kids were little a few hand made heirlooms and cookbooks. Not to much I really care about OH Shit... I bet all my Christmas stuff is ruined. Okay maybe there is more up there than I originally thought that I care about.

Re: show your age
Its a known fact, ppl are pack rats. There's no such thing as a garage that's too big, no matter how big, you can fill it up

I own 1400 acres and have 1500 of crown lease......nearest neighbor is miles away and not there for more than two weeks a year....I have many large farm buildings and barns...and people shake their heads at me, when I say I'd like more.

"I might need that some day !!" Really Dad...what do you need fourteen washing machines for ?
"Well son....your Mom might break the one that's in the house, and I may need a fuse out of it"

Re: show your age
That's not really that far from truth... but that's just funny. I've had a discussion with dad on several occasions, told him one of these days he'll be on that TV series .."HORDERS"... but I realize it hard for ppl that grew up in the 30's to throw anything away

Re: show your age
I know I have a storage unit that I pay for. I could have bought all that stuff 10 times over that I keep in there. I do admit I hate to throw out things that I think my kids can use or I use once in a while or stuff that is sentimental.
I love that guy on TV that says "It's the memory of the person and the things you did or that they did, not the STUFF that really makes you smile" Get ride of the stuff and keep ONE picture to honor, one item and display it. Make it as important as you say it is. Don't keep everything you kids ever made in school. Frame that one special thing.I so want to work on doing the things this guy says. I have a picture that my son did in nursery school. I love it and there is a great story that goes with it. I really should dig it out before it falls apart . I want to frame it.

The easiest way to get rid of stuff is to move.
