nuts
seems we picked up two pails of black walnuts i think they are, and as i remember they dont taste so good. but they do make a lot of noise in the ,mower deck. i dont even think the roof rabbits will eat them.

OH Fond memories!! My dad & I use to gather black walnuts. The shells are hard as hell and as I recall they are somewhat bitter but that black walnut tree was my place of solace for years after my dad passed (I was 8 when he passed). Thanks for that Ash!

The walnut trees are loaded, so are the hickories...have to use an umbrella to get to my car and back because of the huge falling acorns.

The Squirrels here are harvesting their pine cones, and even the old timers say they have never seen such large piles of them stored up for the winter.
I wake up to the banging of them thrown down from 100 feet onto all of the rooftops.

well it sounds like ya can make a snack from the. found a 5 gal pail full of acorns in my saddlebag once, gave them to a friend for bait, the critter will grab them too and make new oak trees , like the chip monks did with the sunflowers all my flower pots and two or 3 in them , which is cool with me...oh i also seen 6 dollor pumpins too , i will not pay that...

Why pay six bucks for a pumpkin when by Halloween , every damn house has one or two free ones for the taking.....your pumpkin pie might taste a little bit like candle wax, but thats why they make nutmeg.

I know a good use for them. Sandblasters use walnut shells for material to sensitive products they're stripping. Get enough of them and they may even pay for them in some places.

never heard of anyone buying them , 3 tree yevery day i got a bucket full and them slimmy green things . can put them up till they turn brown. wish i had some hickery though. can ya use walnut for smoking ?or should i just though them i the fire pit?

Nope to much wax and tannic acid, only use the wood from the tree for smoking....
You can out the walnuts on top of the fridge I think...there's enough heat there to dry them.
