I've got a shorter story; He had another bucket of balls, smaller in size. Some had black stripes across them, while others were just old or seemed to be found covered in pond scum.
"This bucket has all the driving range and old balls, that I found in the water traps, that just need a good cleaning. You could take them to the golf course and have them cleaned and tumbled if you want?" he said. In my typical humorous sense, a grin appeared on my face, as the gerbil ran on the squeaky treadmill that is my brain.
"And what am I suppose to say to the attendant?"
"I've got some dirty old balls that are in need of a good cleaning?!"
"Even if the attendant is a woman, is that something you'd want to hear on a first encounter?!"...
and if they're a guy, wouldn't he get the wrong impression?!"
"I've uttered some way out things in my life, but I don't think I've ever used that line before?" I was rifling them out, quickly laughing between lines. He turned, and punched me in the arm, going inside for supper...
