Destiny
Destiny or fate is a predetermined course of events. It may be conceived as a predetermined future, whether in general or of an individual. It is a concept based on the belief that there is a fixed natural order to the cosmos.
Do you believe in destiny? Do you believe your course has been set for you? Every encounter, every event, every meeting has been preordained?

Re: Destiny
Funny - I think about this a lot. Not sure what I believe any more but it seems the longer I live the more destiny ideer seems to be validated. Not sure if it's some divine plan however but more like a physics kinda thing - Sorta a magnet - things are either drawn to or pushed away depending on the charge...

Over the last few days, I have come to believe in the term destiny, as well as fate...
I have also found out that perhaps it can be changed by tremendous sacrifice.

I don't think that's how it works? You may think you are changing it, but it is actually the path you are destined to take.

Re: Destiny
Some say you can Choose your Fate but not your Destiny.
Life experiences and all the things that influence you are moving you in a certain direction that you are meant to go. And yet experience shows reality is already predicated upon a design more elegant than anything we can specify through our temporal desires.
Others say we should go with the flow and accept what comes. And yet experience shows that while some things are destined, more mundane things are left to choice. Abandoning the responsibility to choose invites the influence of other powers to decide over your life with often unpleasant consequences. Some part of the future is alterable and another is not.

Re: Destiny
I believe there are things that are put before us for a reason, but its our choice as to how we react to them

We are destin to die. We have been built with the ability to make choices. So I find it hard to believe that all things in our life are destin to have happened.

If I had a predetermined destiny, I'd really like to slap whomever came up with it.

Re: Destiny
Fate and Destiny are like two players in a role-play-book. You read a few chapters, until you come to the four choices as to where to proceed, while everyone who reads is will eventually come to the end of the story, just not at the same time or by the same route...

Fate's kinda dull. Destiny is pretty hot.

Life is a role of the dice from the very start. So much is put into play from the moment of conception. I've read that bi-polar may be linked to mothers having a bad flu during pregnancy, and whether or not we are male or female may be affected by how much caffeine the father had on the day you were conceived...
We don't really know why we are who we are, why we are where we are, or where we would be and who we would be if any one tiny factor were different.
