Healing up!
I'm coming along fine post-op, hope the Doc thinks so too at the next follow-up.
Taking it easy, sitting on the front porch eating banana popsicles a lot.
Every evening this cool spider comes out and spins his web in the same place on my porch. I like to watch him, and I was wondering how different the whole Spiderman series of TV shows, comic books and movies would be if they were based more on spider facts so then when Peter Parker got bit by a radioactive spider, he wouldn't be shooting webs out of his wrists but out of his butt instead.

So very glad you're doing better. The spiderman idea sounds more like something for the porn industry.

Re: Healing up!
Stan Lee made mention of that once. It was decided that shooting webs out of his butt would not only not fly with any network, but it would be difficult to get behind a superhero who can't see his target when he's slinging a web...no pun intended...

Re: Healing up!
I'm glad you're coming along ok. I've been wondering about you. I saw my surgeon July 3rd. I don't "HAVE TO WEAR THE SLING" but he said I may want to for comfort ..( obviously he's never wore one for 2 Fuckin months) or in a crowd so ppl may take more caution around me. The tendon, & muscle are just beginning to grow back on the bone, 3 more months before its attached securely. Therapy starts Monday

Re: Healing up!
Yep, you have to wear that sling! You're probably not gonna like the therapy too much. I feel for ya, it's one of the roughest surgery to heal from

Re: Healing up!
I still have to be a bit careful with too much eye movement or it hurts like hell so catching airings of my favorite movies once in a while...I can't pass on My Cousin Vinny, Dewey Cox, or O Brother when I run across them. Dewey Cox is freakin' hilarious!)

Been thinking of you NRG4U, how's the therapy going?
I may be having a bit of a set back with the left eye, going to a surgeon followup this week, so we'll see what he thinks.
Trying to catch up on a few more movies in the meantime.
"Ted" was so funny!
Only caught parts of "The Dictator" That movie is truly disgusting and I laughed my ass off.

Re: Healing up!
I went and saw Lincoln at the theater first week it came out.
I loved it! Daniel Day and Sally Field were mindblowing excellent.
Will watch it again when I get the chance for sure.

As for my therapy, there are several increases. The 1st three sessions were getting movement in my arm again. Those excercises were fairly painful, but lately the look on my face didn't show enough pain. To remedy that they began really stretching my arm up & back. The grimace on my face now seems to satisfy them that I'm now in enough pain after therapy to justify the cost of their services . Ok, all saracasm aside, my 1st session I could raise my arm up87 degrees, now its 112.. upward & back was 121 degrees, now 133. My elbow at my side, forearm up,& moving the forearm to the right was 36 degrees, now remains at 36. I do know this, those old western shows where the cowboy gets shot in the shoulder, wraps a bandana over the wound & gets back in the fight .....BULL SHIT! !! but nobody said I have to like therapy, but if that's what I gotta do to get my arm back, I'll do it

Re: Healing up!
Yep, the shoulder is slow and very painful to heal and the physical therapy is torture.
I sure feel for ya, do you have anyone helping you out while you recover?

Re: Healing up!
Well my dog, Checkers, is a expert on tongue baths .., but hasn't mastered more important errands. My bosses wife stops by if I need her. Its frustrating when I'm unable to do simple tasks. I can't tuck my shirt in on the right side, or put on my belt unless I put it on before I put pants on. I can't shave right side of my face without drawing blood.

Re: Healing up!
Well when I had 2 hands, I do just fine in a kitchen. My mom catered food when I was a kid, & made sure all 4 of her kids could cook before we left home. Butt with 1 arm, my meals are almost entirely from the smoker or grill

From what I've seen they need a live in care giver, a larger medicine cabinet for all the medicine needed just to make it through the day, driving license is revoked, & adult diapers are part of the fashion statement.
