Re: Whats cooking?
Ok, this is simple. Get a cruet, like a Good Seasons dressing cruet. Fill it 3/4 of the way with a good olive oil. Add a tablespoon of salt or garlic salt and a teaspoon of parsley. Then peel 2 or 3 cloves of garlic, cut them in half and drop them in. You can also put some crushed red pepper if you want to add a little heat to it. Put the lid on and shake it up making sure that theres nothing left on the bottom. Now let it sit for at least 8 hours, shaking it up occasionally to make sure all the flavors blend together. When you're ready, pour some on a plate and dip your favorite bread in it. I also use it for a quick meal drizzled over ziti and broccoli etc. Dont refrigerate. However, it only lasts for about a week at room temperature. No need to pay for expensive bread dip mixes at the stores and its far better than store bought garlic bread.
PS - If you want fresh out of the oven Italian bread without actually making it, get a ball of pizza dough. Throw some flour on a board or counter top and roll the dough into loaf shape. Coat the bottom of a cookie sheet with olive oil or an olive oil spray. Bake at 350 gor 30-45 minutes until the crust is golden brown and crispy. Let it cool for 15-20 minutes and it's good to go

Re: Whats cooking?
....and to make my brothers "ball" of pizza dough
2 Cups white flour
1 Cup whole wheat flour
1/4 cup olive oil ...
Salt
3 teaspoons yeast in 1/2 cup warm water to activate
Italian seasonings...or just oregano
Mix... and add a little milk so it doesn't get to sticky...this gives a nice fluffy bread.
Let rise for 1/2 hour.....unless you live above 2500 feet...then it takes triple the time.
Then invite Sy and Free over for pizza..

Re: Whats cooking?
i tried one of the new McDonald's Quarter Pounders. there's the Bacon & Cheese Quarter Pounder, the Deluxe Quarter Pounder, and the Habenaro Ranch Quarter Pounder.
i tried the Habenaro Ranch, it was ok. the sauce was very HOT, (and good, but they put a whole lettuce leaf on it, and when i bit into it, the lettuce all came off in one bite, along with most of the sauce. next time, NO LETTUCE!
