He has earned his right to rest in peace.....I don't know if there is a heaven or hell or afterlife or not, but if there is I hope he is where he wants to be and knows he had people who cared even though we never met him physically.

I learned quite a bit about him in a short amount of time when he joined us here. Losing his wife devastated him, stripped him of any reason to live, to respect or care about himself, to find or recognize any value in himself...then he found his dear ML, having her, someone who needed him so much gave him back his reasons to wake up everyday. He lived to care for her, and that he did in such a devoted selfless way.
He seemed to never be able to see all the good in himself, but that is all he ever saw in others, in us. If anyone treated him badly, he would just shrug it off and make excuses for them.
Seems so odd lately, to wake up at an unreasonable hour of the morning before sunrise and see him still up so late and in those few hours in the morning exchanging a few notes, I have missed that so much.

His cats and awaiting the birth of his first greatgrandchild kept him going there at the end. He was a selfless friend and took great pride in being The Perve. They broke the mould with him and the world is a little darker without him.

It is a beautiful Sunday morning, and I know Perve is at peace. This should make us all smile. I also know I dedicated this song to Perve once, and it made him smile. It went something like this;

Ma asked me if this is something that I wrote and it occurred to me that some folks may be unfamiliar with it. It's an old Paul McCartney tune from his Band on the Run album. If ya youtube it, it's called Picasso's Last Words - Live. It's a stripped down live version of it. Less than 2 minutes. It popped into my head as soon as I heard the news.
