His Son called me tonight. He suffered a heart attack and is in a coma and is on life support

When I first arrived here I remember thinking ...Who is this guy ?...
I wouldn't normally have anything to do with a crazy person like our Perve.
Then I eventually got to know him, and found he was non-judgemental , caring , and a very loyal friend..his heart open for all to see.
He and I were very different, and yet we somehow bonded..and I saw what all of you see.
Now our friend is suffering,....I ask God to be merciful...We rode with him through good times and bad, through his tears and laughter...and we have no complaints.

Sorry to hear the latest. Thank you Free for the update. As a retired medical professional, I may carry a different view of a person's impending death, than many of you here. While we all strive to live every day of our lives as full and productive as we can make and enjoy them; and our friend Perve seemed to really do that; there do arise situations where medical conditions seem to start running amuck. Aging they do say isn't for sissies. But when we've done our best and fought our life's battles to the best of our abilities and they still seem to dominate us, I truly believe we should not fear death but welcome it as the ultimate healing we are truly blessed to obtain. On a personal note, I'd only say this much more, when we each face death, may we make peace with the true higher power who holds our life in the balance along with those family and friends we will leave behind. And a cheerful reminder -- our memories are things death can not steal, erase or destroy. So for those of us with memories of Perve and the friendships he shared here, they will long live on even after we receive the final news of Perve's passing. Now for those who think I'm giving up on Perve's recovery, I'm not! But when all is said and done medically, and recovery isn't any longer the option, our friend through death will one day be ultimately healed.
