Have you guys caught Live From Daryl's House yet? It's an hour show that's filmed at Daryl Hall's studio in his home and it is so damn cool. I guess it's been on for a bit but I just discovered it. Every episode, a different artist comes in and they jam with Daryl and his band. It's typically 2 or 3 of that artists songs and 2 or 3 of Daryl's. Then theres a food section. Johnny Reznik from the Goo Goo Dolls was just on and he made chicken wings for everybody. (Who would have thought that a guy from Buffalo would make wings?)And of course with the food, there's always a variety of beers and wines.
Jammin, cookin and drinkin. No wonder I like i so much. Maybe when I grow up, Daryl will invite me over.

Never heard of it. What network is it on? I haven't even seen any cross network promotions.

Re: LFDH
I don't have that network on my system so that is probably why they don't promote it here. I know most networks and I never even heard of that one. It might be small or regional. I will check it out online if they have it online.

Re: LFDH
I just looked into the network. It is still very limited in its distribution. It looks like they are testing in many of the usual test areas and trying to build a following. They have been adding a few markets at a time but it seems very slowly. It has been around for several years but not in our market. From the markets I have seen them listed in it will do or die soon. But the programming looks like its being hand picked by some real music lovers. Lets see if it has enough cross appeal to get a piece of the market share so they can push for better coverage and advertisers to take notice. At this point many markets would bonus clients on there to see how they do before they push it to hard.

Most things that are on cable can be found online these days. LNH you might want to look into Roku. I know Kam dropped cable and got it as did my mom. They both had horrible and expensive cable companies. Many of the networks air their shows on their websites as well. It might be a week late in a few cases but not a bad deal for free. My cable doesn't work in my bedroom for the most part since the storm so I have been using my computer. It has made me think about dropping my cable.I am really addicted to HBO and Showtime and they don't have a way to watch if you are not a subscriber as of yet unless you want to buy the shows from one season behind. I actually have a way to watch through a family member but don't want to take advantage. The other thing I have discovered are the internet shows and the shows made just for Amazon. Netflix etc....There really is a lot out there if you want to look for it. All entertainment will be through the internet at some point. They are merging as we speak. You can watch on your phone, kindles, tablets, computers or even TV if you hook up to the internet. There are so many networks and shows I couldn't possibly watch them all. It's really starting to interfere with my reading time!I read online, listen to music online and watch movies and shows online. It sucked when my internet was down for a month . I tried upgrading my phone to link things to my 4g but it wasn't very good. At least I was able to watch things on my phone.

one problem. i don't have a credit card, and Roku has to have a subscription to many channels to do any good.

Re: LFDH
I know some channels are subscription based but not all. You can still go to the different networks online to watch may shows. It's just not as easy as changing a channel. That's the real difference for most people. It comes down to convenience. Most people want to sit on a couch with a remote. You can set your computer to have you favorites and just click on them that way. You can feed it through to most TV's with cables.Hope that helps you LNH. I know many of us are looking to cut back. Even if we aren't I know I have discovered many things online that I can watch when I want so I don't have to be tied to a TV by their schedules and many times I get to skip the commercials. If you like old TV shows you can see almost all of them on-line.

Re: LFDH
You are not looking in the right places. I will try to get some websites for you and send them to you in email if you want. Not tonight but as I have a little time. For now if you watch any shows on CW network like Vampire Diaries I know they air them on there. ABC airs their shows as well like Once Upon A time for example. CNN and HLN stream live. Just to give you a few.CBS, NBC, ABC and PBS all have shows on their web sites Also try for the BBC and a few others that you might find some great programming. Most only keep up the shows for a specific time frame but once you learn their schedules you will know what you can watch and when. I do a lot of this when I travel. You can do a search online if you are looking for specific shows. There are very few that I have not been able to watch for free. Mostly the Paid channels shows from networks like HBO and Showtime are the ones that are harder to find for free.

Re: LFDH
UPDATE: New season of Live From Daryl's House is ready to start filming. In addition to Palladia, it can also be seen this season on VH1. Clips and some entire shows are also available on youtube. I highly recommend the episodes with Diane Birch and Grace Potter. In addition to really good tunes, they're both pretty easy on the eyes too.
