Daylight savings
How did everyone do with the change??? Those that have been on the overnight shift at work seem to be having a hard time with it. I have talked to a lot of people that are still missing that extra hour of sleep.

Re: Daylight savings
Seems like it takes me two nights and I'm caught up..although one of the benefits of being self employed is if i can't get a good nights sleep, or I am sick, I can take some time to deal with it.
I really wouldn't get used to the 24 hour daylight further north, was up there years ago , and it really threw my internal clock off , it felt like I had jet lag for over a week.

Re: Daylight savings
i've never agreed with the claim that you either lose an hour of sleep in the fall, or gain one in the spring. you may sleep in an hour longer, or get up an hour earlier, but if you go to bed at the same time every night, then you're going to bed an hour later, or earlier.

Re: Daylight savings
It matters nothing, until you walk into work, and your boss stands there glaring at you. He's tapping his foot, arms folded, and checking his watch, as if he's expecting a really good answer as to why your an hour late for work, and you didn't tell him. Oh, and by the way, telling him to, "Fuck Off" doesn't help the situation either, or so I'm told...

Re: Daylight savings
I kinda did have jet lag. I had a rough night Saturday, when I got up on Sunday I thought it was 2 pm. but it was 1pm. But now, it was 2pm. I drove around for a while until someone told me the time had changed.

Re: Daylight savings
I think it's fabulous to have the daylight longer in the evening. It gives me more time to look at the snow falling.
This winter needs to go into the rear view mirror!

Re: Daylight savings
I can't say that the day or night matters much to my sleep. I have had so many night jobs in my life that I was used to working nights and sleeping days. It's just a matter of having good room darkening shades/curtains. My daughter has a skylight with no shade in her room and it doesn't seem to bother her when she wants to sleep. I don't have an internal clock. If I'm tired,I'm tired and I go to sleep. I used to sleep really well, but these days I have all kinds of sleep issues. Medication just messes up sleep and then you have to take more meds to correct that. Time changes don't mater to me that much. I also travel to Arizona a lot and they have a 2 or 3 hour differences depending on what time of year I go and it only messed me up once.Jet lag sucks! I had it once and I felt like I was dragging myself everywhere for a week. By the time I was starting to get better it was time to go home.
They have done studies on this and say that when ever the clocks are moved forward in the spring there are increases of accidents, people get crankier and a bunch of other things.Once again they are debating whether to stop changing the clocks at all.
