Most of the top pastry chefs are men. Most top chefs in general are men. I know that if you ask, most women will tell you they love a guy who cooks and bakes.
If you ever made a really complicated cake or pastry or food you would know it takes a lot of knowledge, skill, patience and strength. I'm not referring to a short order cook. I mean a chef. There is a reason they travel the world and attend some amazing schools as well as try to work with the best to get to a higher level. The money they make is amazing and well deserved.
I personally love when a guy cooks and bakes for me. It shows he feels I'm worth the effort.

(not saying that i agree...cuz i do like to bake sometimes)

I use a couple of those reward point sites, you do surveys, watch vids, etc for points, redeem points for Amazon gift cards...I save up the amazon gift cards till I have enough to get whatever we need (how much you earn depends on how much time and effort you're willing to put into it) I get 30 to 45 bucks a month in amazon money from one site. I keep about 200 bucks saved up at amazon cuz I expect our microwave to crap out anytime now.

I have a professional version of the kitchen aid mixer, I love it. I always cooked and baked a lot and got tired of the other mixers sounding like they were dying if I made cookie dough. It really became a necessity for our house at some point. One year my family chipped in and got me the mixer for my birthday. I love it! But fair warning. If you get the bigger one like I have you either have to have it on the counter at all times or have strong muscles and a deep cabinet to store it in. It weighs over 30 pounds. It has great attachments as well. I have a pasta maker, meat grinder as well as the regular dough hooks and mixing hooks, and pouring shield.I think it was about $400 at the time but well worth it. I would have been through several cheep mixers if i had them.

My mixer is who ever I'm dating at the time, they come in all shapes and sizes, different speeds, and various hair colors, but Newbs, they usually weigh more than 30 pounds, and don't like it when you stuff them in a storage closet.

Re: cake
I am sure there may be other opinions to the contrary, but I will share just a little bit more.
Ten Reasons to Throw out your Microwave Oven
From the conclusions of the Swiss, Russian and German scientific clinical studies, we can no longer ignore the microwave oven sitting in our kitchens. Based on this research, we will conclude this article with the following:
1.Continually eating food processed from a microwave oven causes long term - permanent - brain damage by "shorting out" electrical impulses in the brain [de-polarizing or de-magnetizing the brain tissue].
----I know I can't afford this!
2.The human body cannot metabolize [break down] the unknown by-products created in microwaved food.
3.Male and female hormone production is shut down and/or altered by continually eating microwaved foods.
4.The effects of microwaved food by-products are residual [long term, permanent] within the human body.
5.Minerals, vitamins, and nutrients of all microwaved food is reduced or altered so that the human body gets little or no benefit, or the human body absorbs altered compounds that cannot be broken down.
6.The minerals in vegetables are altered into cancerous free radicals when cooked in microwave ovens.
7.Microwaved foods cause stomach and intestinal cancerous growths [tumors]. This may explain the rapidly increased rate of colon cancer in America.
8.The prolonged eating of microwaved foods causes cancerous cells to increase in human blood.
9.Continual ingestion of microwaved food causes immune system deficiencies through lymph gland and blood serum alterations.
10.Eating microwaved food causes loss of memory, concentration, emotional instability, and a decrease of intelligence
Now off to eat a banana

We have to have the microwave, hubs is disabled and doesn't know much at all about cooking. Since Dad passed, it's necessary for me to be out of town at Mom's one day a week at the least. We keep a supply of frozen microwave dinners for him because it's easiest way for him to be able to feed himself when I can't be at home.

I understand. It is not meant to be derogatory towards anyone. In a perfect world, things would be healthier. A great concern of mine is mainly what harm it is doing to children, their growth and development, especially with their milk being warmed in a microwave. I didn't even go into detail on that issue.
I'm pretty sure Hubs is fully developed.

Re: cake
Easy, easy
bunt style angel food cake (you can buy it at the store)
2 blocks of cream cheese
1/2 a small bag of powdered sugar
Strawberries Fresh or frozen(defrosted)
cut the cake, making it two layers
mix cream cheese and powdered sugar until creamy. A hand mixer will do the job in less than 2 min.
coat the bottom layer of cakewith the cream cheese mix. put sliced strawberries where they will between the layers
put on second layer of cake. coat in cream cheese mix. Put strawberries on top and sides as wanted.
Serve or refrigerate and serve later.

I bought one of those coffee pots for 70 bucks, with the thermal carafe. It heats the water, but then doesn't have an element to keep it warm.....what a piece of shit. After a year of telling myself it isn't so bad, I came to my senses, got tired of luke warm coffee. Went to my geust cabin and retrieved my 12 dollar Black and Decker coffee maker.
The new one is in the geust cabin .

QUOTE (MnJTX @ April 23, 2013, 16:57)You know how they tell if cowboy coffee is ready? If a horseshoe will stand up in it, it's ready.
How do you tell if a cowboy is ready ?
....and never let the cowboy make the coffee, but you already know that.
