I'm A Bit Spooked
I got a call this past week from a place that asked if I was interested to play there on March 16th for their St. Patrick's day party. I told them that I didnt have the band anymore and they said that it was ok because they wanted me, solo.
Now as some of my good friends here already know, I really havent played out in the last 3 years. Ive been focusing on writing and recording original stuff and I've forgotten most of the old cover songs that I knew like the back of my hand. I said yes, because Im a narcissistic prick, but for the first time in a long time, I'm scared shitless!

Bah. You'll be fine. You have a couple weeks to practice. Once you do, as Syb said, it will fall in place. 'Sides, you can try your own tunes this time out.

I know a lot of entertainers. They all basically say its when you stop being nervous is when you should worry. Nervous just means you care about what you do. The tunes will come if you have done your job and practiced. I know you will do that. Most of this stuff is so ingrained in you it will flow from you like it should. You know music comes from a deep place in side your heart.Break a leg.. I would say let us know how it goes but I know it will be fine.
Besides if all else fails, remember its going to be St. Patrick's day they will all be drunk and not notice anyway.

I can tell you from experience...I now know why they have the little purse that hangs in front of the kilt. It excites the bonney parts, when you walk, if know what I mean?!...
