Re: Alone Gain. Naturally
Isn't it funny how a song just sticks with you. I think everyone has a song they like that might not be considered one of the best songs ever made but for some reason they are just loved by you. Some songs that we hate to admit we even like to anyone.
By the way Free, I have been meaning to ask you if you have had time to catch the Eagles documentary on HBO? I saw part one and really enjoyed it. They are one of my favorites. I am always amazed when I realize how much music we have in our heads over the years. When Ipods first came out and they said they hold 1,000 or 2,000 songs, I remember saying "Who would know that many songs?". I think the Ipod was filled before I finished that sentence. I have an 8 gig and that's full as well. I think I could fill a 16 gig without a problem.
I started a list of groups and solo musicians I like and was really shocked at how long the list was and it continues to grow.

Re: Alone Gain. Naturally
Man, I mis spelled in the Subject Line again! it was supposed to be Alone Again, Naturally. A quirky but catchy old song that basically is about a guy that wants to kill himself after losing his parents.
Newbs, I didnt see that, but I dont get HBO. That is something that I'd be willing to add it for though. I love the Eagles. They were a huge force in one of the best times in Rock History.
I had Direct TV for about 12 years and the Cable Company made me an offer I couldnt refuse and I switched. But I quickly realized how many more channels Direct TV had to get documentaries like that. My old DVR was full of them. Yeah, I love the music, but I also like knowing the back stories that made the band or the act. What their first lucky break was. Who their influences were. That kinda stuff.
And I'm not talking about the old VH1 Behind The Music series. They took the same story and applied it everytime to whoever they were talking about and it was predictable. You can put a lot of different names in the blank. Here's how it would go:
Star struggled for years to get noticed
Star suddenly hits it big
Star has more money than they know what to do with
Star gets heavy into booze and drugs
Star turns out bad music and Record Label and drops them
Star is flat broke or heavily in debt
Star goes to rehab
Star tries for a come back.
What were we talking about again?
