Re: rats
Wouldn't be a surprize. Wonder what made her raise rats.

Re: rats
Perhaps an overwhelming need to spread the black plague..
or to give the local kids something to practice shooting at with their pellet guns.

Re: rats
They tend to multiple. What makes you think she intentionally had 500 Rats?
We had two gerbils once and in a very short time we had more than twenty.
I just wonder why anyone would want to have even one rat. YUK!

Re: rats
We had a similar situation up here. The woman said, that if she got caught with all those rats, they would simply destroy them. If she raised cats they would be placed in other homes and she couldn't live with that. Selfish...

If she raised enough cats to get ride of the mice, she'd have an excuse for having that many cats. They should be well fed. After all, rats can multiply, add, even divide to some extent. They just cann't subtract.

Re: rats
Damn Habit rail cages!we had them too. They had a chicken wire style bottom and a few of the baby Gerbils broke their legs on them. We brought them to the vet. He set their legs with toothpicks.lol
They got out so often the dogs were used to it. So when the Gerbils would run by, the dogs would not even raise their heads they would more or less roll their eyes as if saying "There they go again." Even my Rabbit would just watch them. And the funny thing is my rabbit had run of the house when I was home because she was litter boxed trained so I would find the rabbit sleeping on the dogs back and they would both seem annoyed when the Gerbils were out. I actually have a picture of it on my facebook page.lol Okay maybe it was the flash from the camera that annoyed them but they definitely didn't seem happy they got woken up. So much for the big mean German Shepard. You should have seen it when the bird and the gerbils got out at the same time. I guess it was good the dogs and Rabbit didn't respond because it just made me realize it could have been like that kids song... "I don't know why she swallowed the fly" lmao
