This is making me very cranky!
We have not even started the repairs from the Sandy storm (still waiting for insurance to approve estimates) and now we are getting slammed with a blizzard! Really? The local officials are telling people if they are back on the barrier island, get off! They are trying to get emergency sand to get some type of dunes up to hold back some of the flooding and erosion they are expecting. This is crazy... I want mother nature recalled! She is pissing me off. They are telling us to prepare for possible power outages again. I just restocked my damn refrigerator and freezer. I have to stock up on water again and if the heat and electric goes out I will have to leave AGAIN!! I am so over this. I want to move so bad but I just can't right now. They are saying we can get 70 mile an hour winds .I HATE WINTER AND WANT TO JUST LEAVE HERE. Every channel has a different amount but the last I saw they said 16+ inches are possible. I hope they are so wrong with this. One forecaster is saying only 3-6 inches...I vote for his forecast.Unfortunately no one else agrees with him.Maybe if we all light our fire pits, fire places and anything else we can think of it will warm things up enough there wont be any snow...I think maybe I will just hibernate like a bear and not wake up until spring.I'm going to bed now, Goodnight.

Re: This is making me very cranky!
It does suck being up there now. From what I've seen, the heavy snow went north by Boston. Same with the storm surges. I know you don't have very good conditions now, just sayin, it could be much worse.

Re: This is making me very cranky!
We didn't get hit as bad as they thought we would although it isn't exactly a dusting either. I guess we got about 8 inches of snow. The real problem is the ice. The roads (AND MY DRIVEWAY)are so icy.I think the temperature is suppose to go above freezing on Monday so hopefully it will melt then dry up.Both my brothers got about 3 feet of snow so I got real lucky. The snow compacted and moved off the coast a little so we got a lower amount than first expected.
I think I'll just go back to MI and climb into bed with Kam and stay there until spring.

Now that sounds like a good plan....good to hear you didn't get hit to hard.
...and I'm thankful for not having to drive a cord of firewood all that way.

Re: This is making me very cranky!
Syb I wouldn't mind you driving the cord of wood up here but I think with all the down trees and even the limbs still on my lawn it would be a bit redundant. I just need a place to burn it. I have not used the fire pit once since the storm. Not exactly a comfy environment when you are sitting in the yard looking at your roof with a big hole ripped in in it and the gutters hanging down swaying in the wind. Not too mention that we are not to sure how safe any of the remaining trees are since the storm. Sitting out there is like sitting in a war zone, just waiting to be hit with something. Even have one shed that is still down and a storm door and a few lights still not replaced yet. I haven't been in my back yard except for with the adjuster and contractor. I can't wait until it all gets fixed.Hopefully by spring the raccoon will have his eviction notice and my house will be back to normal. I never intended to have a furry and noisy tenant that doesn't pay rent or an indoor waterfall when it rains.

Re: This is making me very cranky!
To get rid of raccoons in an building you nail a piece of bear hide to the place he's making entry....I know you probably can't get a piece of bear skin..so I've heard moth balls work as well, but never have tried that.

Dryer sheets may work too. They keep mice out of stored cars.

Moth balls work good to keep snakes away too.

Josie and Jen both on the same thread. Now things are starting to look like they should on here! How the hell are you two? I think it is starting o look like Free needs to do a happy hour reunion and we can a catch up.
Kam and I were just saying that we haven't seen especially Josie for a while and we were hopping all was well.I have noticed the Jen has been jumping on here every once in a while. You know you can't stay away that we all kind of grow on you and you just have to jump on here at least to say hello.
