Thank you Universe!
So we pulled up in the drop off area in front of Walmart yesterday, about 20 feet from the doors.
This guy is coming out, head down, phone in hand, and starts walking right for us. So we just sat there and he kept walking, walking, walking right into the grill of our parked pick up truck.
Thank you, Universe...for that small but thoughtful gift.

Uh, he should be thanking the universe, his lucky stars, a green clover.... or all of the above. What an idiot. How does he or people like him survive?
I could go on, but I'll stop here. (Something about thinning of the herd)

Ya, that should have been classic, and funny as hell. Good way to put it Kiss. Not bragging, just a fact. Im a highly skilled driver, perfect record, but whenever I DO drive, I never talk on my cell. I can tell Im impaired. Also, as a pedestrian, Ive almost been run over 3 times by ppl talking on thier cells. Oh my, just really say no to texting and driving. That would really "thin the heard", Kiss.

We nearly decided to wait until he was a step away from the truck...then lay on the horn. But we didn't.

Oh no, that's never happened and never will...if 5tar didn't oppose me on pretty much everything, well...well the whole dynamic would just be wrong!

Re: Thank you Universe!
We did a thread a while ago about stupid warnings that are on various products. Like "do not use on water" for an iron. I say, remove the warnings for people that need them. Like Kiss said, thinning the herd will happen automatically. I hate going to WalMart. Actually, it's the WalMartians that make me go crazy

Re: Thank you Universe!
I don't care for Walmarts either, but in a rural setting a Supercenter can be the only sensible option.

Re: Thank you Universe!
Unfortunately a close friend of mind lost a son because he was texting and driving. IT DRIVES ME CRAZY! As much as you tell people this they all think it is fine when they do it. I have seen my kids text without ever looking at the screen. I can't even text well while I am looking at the screen. But It should NEVER BE DONE WHEN DRIVING!!!!
My son got a ticket for talking on his cell while driving. They are only allowed to use a phone hands free in our state. My son knew he was wrong and I never said to him that the cop was a jerk or anything like that. I have heard so many parents who have told their kids that the cops are jerks when their kids get the tickets. But they don't realize if it was your kid that gets hit be someone who was talking on a cell or texting I bet they wouldn't say that. I do get pissed that I see cops texting and talking all the time on their cells. My phone is completely hands free even if I am texting I can do it threw voice recognition and I NEVER text while driving and RARELY even use my phone while driving even if it is hands free.If I do it is usually just to know someone (My kids or other people that might be out of town) is safe then I tell them I will call them when I get home.
As for people being oblivious in general...Kam and I were at the museum this weekend at the Faberge exhibit. Kam is not big on crowds to start off but add in RUDE people and he is just unforgiving. When people are flat out stupid and rude, lets just say him and I together can be interesting. The security guard liked us and found us amusing as did the orientation person but I have a feeling a few people left there thinking we were a bit insane and were a little afraid of us.Why do people think it is acceptable to just walk in front of a group of people as if they are more important even if they have to squeeze in to do it? And even more incredible to me is that they seem shocked when people (OK NOT ALL PEOPLE BUT KAM AND I FOR SURE) go off on them? Then they act as if they don't speak English as if that has something to do with them being rude assholes. Turns out that "Get the fuck out of my way bitch!"is pretty much universal and understood in what ever language they spoke.

Oh come on! i would have DEFINITELY done that! But with my luck, I'd get sued for hyper insensitivity. And lose. But it would have been SO worth it!

Re: Thank you Universe!
A couple of months ago, a guy on his cell, ran his Toyota into my truck. No damage to my truck, but his car was dented good, the hood started to fold and wouldn't close right. I was not in it at the time. He came into the store, demanding to exchange paperwork for insurance purposes. I said, "Well, good luck with that." He went after the police, but after my boss explained the situation, the officer said, "Really...Sir? Maybe you should watch where your going next time. Consider this a wake up call as to the dangers of cell phone distractions." (YEA!) I thought.

Re: Thank you Universe!
Once, while getting fuel,a lady drives up, fills her car with fuel, goes inside to pay, comes out, steps over the hose t get in her car & takes off, peeling her fender back like a sardine can. But she actually steps over the hose to get in her car
