Re: kitchen nightmares
I wish I could find a resturant that would make toast that well. Most places barely make it brown. then smear fake butter all over it so it gets soggy before ya get it.

Re: kitchen nightmares
yep, and people can be really picky about their food too, trust me, as a cook, i know all about it. more often than not, when a person is not satisfied with the food the get, they will just decide they don't want to come back to that plasce, and complain to their friends and family, telling them not to go there. if more people would point out their issues, but in a nice manner, then we cooks would know what we are doing wrong. most of the time, i'd rather hear the complaints over the compliments because if i didn't cook something the way you wanted it, i can't cook it the right way the next time if i don't know it was wrong on the first place. 99% of the time, when some one tells the boss that their food was "the best i've ever had"...he'll say good work, keep it up. he won't give me a raise because of it. if i got a raise for every time i have been complimented, i'd be rich. lol

Most people avoid confrontation. It doesn't need to get nasty. They find it easier to bitch at someone who has a sympathetic ear.

Re: kitchen nightmares
so true, as a cook even at home, i like to see folks enjoying what i make, and its so easy for it to get away from ya , oops i burnt the dam butter, and that makes eggs brown not yeller, nowadays i just flop steaks on my grill.. i use to do it for my aunt and uncle they had a Vienna place ,still love them dogs, with fries and a coke, burgers and pizza and so on. got out of it from the grease and my skin.
we picked up a tray of lasagna from stoffers for Christmas, i think i can make it better then this, Italiano was mostly sauce, and rocatta.....but were else can ya get it for 10 bucks

Re: kitchen nightmares
I'm my own worst critic!.. Burn the butter or it's discolored, throw it out. My party went without a hitch, mostly because of the attention I took in caring for how the food comes out. I can tell you from experience, if you don't at least taste the food as you cook it, it'll never come out right.
