Isn't it "round yon virgins"?
"Yon" is a poetic little adjective telling us that a virgin mother and her baby are "just over there, not far."
I really can't say much about Christmas songs except that by Christmas I get sick of them.Especially being they start them earlier each year.

Took a walk around town last night. The police station and the fire department were all done out in...you guessed it. red and blue Christmas lights. I don't know why they don't just keep them like that year round, it would be a whole lot easier to give folks directions to them when they ask. Well anyway, I was looking at the string of lights and noticed they were rather old looking, so I got a little devious. I snuck up on one and unscrewed it from the socket. Yep, just as I suspected, one goes out... they ALL go out.  Guess I know where my money didn't go in taxes this year either...
