we call them "ironically " a headstall, and when you go to fit the breast collar , make sure it isn't cold, your nipples may gey rubbed raw, and when you tighten the cinch, make sure it fits two people,........I'm 6' 1" ...192 lbs......and I wear my boots to bed.We will talk about saddle fitting, and spurs a little later.

I was waiting for you to chime in Star......I prefer a horn on my saddle, although I will say when a woman walks...or rides ..by in a pair of jodpers, she usually gets my undivided attention.Perhaps you english are on to something.Yet I find your rigging, and harness to light to take the inevitable abuse, during cowboy dressage, or as we call it here...a good old fashioned sweaty ,plowing bee.

Re: Bought
Isnt it wierd, how when we came up, we all ate different foods. My friend, was from massachusts, or however you spell it, but he was into seafood. Me, after we got less unpoor, I came up on meat and potatoes. But I was still wearing my hand me down clothes, lol. Before that, mom made flour gravy, on a piece of bread. You know, just a few months ago, I thanked her for keeping my sorry ass alive. Long storey there, but came in handy having nothing years later. Damn Im glad we lived in poverty. Not wishing it on anyone, best things that happened to me though. Really put things in perspective. What was I saying again?

Re: Bought
Just a thought. Why isnt it bot instead of bought? You can put ugh on a shelf, and you can have it handy for other words. Then again, since english is actually a dialect of german, did we loose the war?

English is a melange of Latin, Greek, German + Scandinavian, French, Indian and Caribbean languages. That's why we have so many different words for very similar things or concepts.
In my opinion this is a very good thing as although it makes the language complex it provides enormous richness and beauty.
Losing this would be double plus un-good

I will say a sexy girl ,is even sexier with an accent, and being Canadian , and having a large french population, it's common here to make a french girl ask..."can I see your horses trot. ?" ...and Perve ,if you ever heard a Newfoundlander speak English. you'd realize how correct you are, they are speaking English, and sound like they are from Ireland, and have words for things nobody can understand.,and Kiss have you figured out what a crupper is yet ?...

QUOTE (Iwant2kssuallovr @ November 9, 2012, 22:26)A surcingale and crupper ??? Maybe!!! very good. A Surcingale goes around the middle chest to train for cinch pressure or driving, a Crupper goes around the tail for driving as well, or attaches to the saddle for steep mountain climbing, and aids in the saddle not slipping forward. When you said you bought a harness , a Surcingale, and Crupper came to mind. I know, I'm sorry......... I have issues !!

Re: Bought
I'd gladly take one ride in the saddle , than a lifetime of watching from the stands. I use an old surcingale for training young horses, and a crupper as well, they tend to accept the saddle better when the time comes for the breaking. The crupper , thats so the don't get flinchy, and it helps get rid of the natural defensiveness of their hind end, or the danger zone around their back feet . With high spirited animals , that tend to have a mind of their own, the resistance to harness can last a long time.If you go at it like you have ten minutes, it will take all day, if you go at it like you've got all day, it usually takes ten minutes. Tell us , have you tried your harness yet, or are you waiting for a saddle fitting ? Don't be to defensive of your hind end,....no kicking allowed.
