Yah....left that door WIDE open.....I spend to much time sitting on my tractor thinking about what I'm going to write in here....you know you can bail hay in 3rd gear, well at least until the bailer starts smoking.

I am spending too much time fussing over a baby bird, a fledging. He can fly some, but doesn't seem capable of getting about for food and water.
I do understand that it's Nature's way, survival of the fit, natural selection and all that. But the little guy is so pretty and he's right out there, under the big oak tree in my front yard and I can't just do nothing, so he's feasting on whole wheat toast crumbs and fresh water. Looking better today.

Alot of young birds are weak due to lack of ribloflavin, try a bread, or grain that is high in that, it will lube up his joints , a indicator is a curled foot.

You can't "move" to planet Perve.....they abduct you, and probe you ,searching for a higher intelligence, so far there has been no rejected abductee's....They even accepted Paris Hilton.....

Thank you, I am using what I have on hand right now, a whole wheat bread, Ill check the label for riboflavin. He is getting along better today. Can't tell what kind of bird he is, but he is a pretty thing.

I like Chazzy spend too much time worrying about all the animals that are supposed to be part of natural selection but can't help wanting to help. If you have a heart there is no way you can walk by a suffering animal and not do something. If natural selection was supposed to kill that poor animal then I would not have seen it.And nothing should suffer the way some of these animals do.
Currently I am following the updated posts about a kitten that was almost blind in both eyes when found. This poor little thing was truly suffering until someone found her and brought her to this woman I know that rescues cats.I seriously worry about this and many of the other cats , dogs etc that I have come across through my life as if they were my children.I wish people would spay and neuter their pets, it would cut down on so much of this type of thing.
By the way thanks for the info on the bird. I know next time I try to save one to look for that curled foot thing. We have most birds dying from West Nile around here so there is not much we can do except call animal control and hope they don't suffer.
