Foriegn aid.
First, why does the spelling of foriegn go against the "I before E, accept after C" rule? Really no rules, lol. My question is, when natural disasters hit our country, where is the foriegn aid from Mexico? And because Mexico claims to be a third world country as an excuse for not sending aid to others, why are they a third world country? This topic will probably be deleted, but food for thought.

good one perve,I have been working on my grammar skills as of late, and this rule gets broken more then it gets used.Don't get me wrong,Those I write to,know I'm a moron with writing skills, but its something I can work on to improve.but this rule? every time I spell friend,or weird or piece,or deceive or receive ,diesel or maybe niece.I never know ,I can get the friend thing, its Fry-end= friend ...I had spelled 3 of the examples wrong when using spellcheck.. lol

OMG If you only knew how often my name has been spelled wrong. Or even worse pronounced wrong. It is spelled and pronounced as it should be. If you saw the spelling you should be able to pronounce it with no problem if, you speak English. If you can pronounce it then you should have no problem spelling it. So I never understood why so many manage to mangle it on a daily bases! It actually gets on my nerves. Free, you know what my name is. Do you see any reason why people can't spell or pronounce it correctly? I have a doctor I have gone to for 16 years and his receptionist calls me Elana every time I see her. I want to scream at her and say "Do you see an E anywhere in my name? Not to mention leaving out a letter here or there." gggrrrrr

Don't worry people. Help is at hand courtesy of that wonderful organization devoted to improving the world - the EU
The European Commission has just announced an agreement whereby English will be the official language of the European Union rather than German, which was the other possibility. As part of the negotiations, the British Government conceded that English spelling had some room for improvement and has accepted a 5-year phase-in plan that would become known as "Euro-English".
In the first year, "s" will replace the soft "c". Sertainly, this will make the sivil servants jump with joy. The hard "c" will be dropped in favour of "k". This should klear up konfusion, and keyboards kan have one less letter.
There will be growing publik enthusiasm in the sekond year when the troublesome "ph" will be replaced with "f". This will make words like fotograf 20% shorter.
In the 3rd year, publik akseptanse of the new spelling kan be expekted to reach the stage where more komplikated changes are possible.
Governments will enkourage the removal of double letters which have always ben a deterent to akurate speling. Also, al wil agre that the horibl mes of the silent "e" in the languag is disgrasful and it should go away.
By the 4th yer people wil be reseptiv to steps such as replasing "th" with "z" and "w" with "v".
During ze fifz yer, ze unesesary "o" kan be dropd from vords kontaining "ou" and after ziz fifz yer, ve vil hav a reil sensibl riten styl.
Zer vil be no mor trubl or difikultis and evrivun vil find it ezi tu understand ech oza. Ze drem of a united urop vil finali kum tru.

OMG 5tar!! If you came up with that you should get an award. If you copied it thank you for bringing it to our attention! That had to be one of the best things I have read in a long time. If you only knew how frustrated I am by the English language. I am forwarding that to my sister in law who is a special ed teacher. We have had many discussions about how screwed up English is.

Many a true word spoken in jest.
Germany are now controlling everything that happens in mainland Europe because of their economic power; elected politicians removed from office, dictating terms for bailouts and repayments of loans etc.
Amazingly, in 1950 this scenario was depicted in Isaac Asimov's Foundation series of books where a large military power was brought to it's knees by the use of economic power...
