English
My oldest son visited me from out of town a few weeks ago. Just amazing how intellegent and well read he is, on a multitude of subjects. I was blown away. He was explaining to me how our American english came from. Totally made sense, even if I could explain it, way too long to post here. Bottom line though is, our english, is actually one of many german dialects. He is a walking encyclopedia, dictionary, biblical expert. (he can spell too, lol).

Re: English
Ancient history is pretty awesome.
Saw a nice documentary on the human family tree claiming DNA traces us all back to an Ethiopian Adam.

Re: English
Very admirable, and I am very jealous of those who have a easy time when it comes to reading, learning, and remembering.
I've always struggled and had to work harder. I think if I lived 10 life times, I wouldn't get it right.
What does you son do?

Saw a nice documentary on the human family tree claiming DNA traces us all back to an Ethiopian Adam. Missed this one, but funny you should mention DNA, cause of the many topics he shared, this was one. He explained in detail the whole DNA thing. Yes every living person who ever lived or will, on the planet, are descended from Adam. He also answered the question of the Ark not having enough room to hold ALL different creatures. Example he gave, rather than have like every breed of dog, there were only 2 dogs on the Ark, with the DNA of everydog. After mutiplying over time, the various traits, or breeds, took different routes, thus different breeds came about. Gotta stop now, or I run the risk of saying more than I know. Lol. Yes, my son is very intersting. He is who he is, inspite, and despite of his old man. lol Damn good thing too, I took the harder way.

Re: English
Got another one. My son explained to me about tempature. It is a scientific fact, its impossible to have no tempature. It is proven fact, that all atoms anywhere in the universe, continue to move. Thus creating heat. So 0 degrees, centegrate, farenhite, or whatever the hell it is, has temprature. All I said was, "If heat rises, that means heaven, is hotter than hell." he explained, that is true. I cannot. Intellectually explain it, but he can. He is awesome.

Yes German goes back into time immemorial, nobody really knows how old it is, or how many dialects were lost and absorbed into different clans..my family still speaks an old dialect, specific to our lineage, and is very hard to learn.....you can also get by in dozens of European countries speaking german, your son sounds like he'd be interesting to get to know, you planning a visit to see him again soon?

Is he single? Hey, I am 39 now, so he is what, 12? Just kidding. His wife and he have 3 kids. On top of all about him, he is also U.S,C.B.P. arist but southern Arizonas chaplain. He flew to Michigan, made the notifications to Brian Terrys family, made all the funeral arrangements, and precided over it all. He also worked with Mr. Terry. I still have the tv clip of him at Mr. Terrys memorial service. Me? Proud? Hell yes! Consequently, I may know a little more than I should about "things." He also knows Janet Reno (big deal, not) tries to avoid her (that shows good charactor), and was on hand when the president visited a hospital in Tucson. Oh, he speaks better spanish than me too.

Re: English
Just recalled my son explaing more english evolution. As well as our english is actually being a German dialect, it ti is a combination of, and influenced by yet other languages. That explains our spelling, words that sound the same, mean different things, as in to, two, too. He explained in detial, that the language in the King James Bible, is very close to true english, and thats why it is difficult to read.
