71' with 95% humidity. In all my life I never remember major humidity? I remember it being humid, as it was cause to make my hair bigger, but never soaking my hair and clothes.

Re: heat
Kiss you live in Florida and say you never remember humidity like that? Is there a different Florida than the one I know at the bottom of the US on the right side of the country?
I lived in Florida for 6 months. I have friends and family that live in various parts of Florida. It's hot , humid, buggy , filled with swamps. It has very high humidity. Are you sure you live in Florida?

I'm not sure which swamp your friends and family live, but yes, I am absolutely positive. And, maybe... UNLESS you have lived in Florida your whole life, you might not realize the climate change. The "Climate Change' there is on average less perception, temperatures jumped 13 degrees over the last 50 years. And, the highest humidity level a hundred years ago was about 45%. Now, 50%-95%.

Re: heat
I lived in Tampa and it was 30 years ago and it was always humid. I have friend still there and they say its still the same. Maybe where you live its different but I never heard of anywhere in Florida that didn't have high humidity and lots of bugs, due in big part to the humidity. I know living in any place where there is a lot of water (Like the Jersey shore) you will find high humidity. It's science.
In this table, the Daily number is the average of humidity readings taken every three hours throughout the day. For all places except Pensacola, Morning percentages are for 7 am and Afternoon measures are for 4 pm local standard time. At Pensacola the humidity data are for 6 am and 3 pm.
Average yearly relative humidity (%)
Daily Place Morning Afternoon
75 Daytona Beach 86 62
75 Fort Myers 90 58
76 Jacksonville 89 58
74 Key West 79 67
73 Miami 84 62
74 Orlando 89 56
74 Pensacola 85 60
75 Tallahassee 91 54
74 Tampa 88 57
73 West Palm Beach 83 63

Re: heat
I lived in Tampa thirty years ago, 1980 and 1983 to be exact. I never remember it being humid, ever. Sea breezes help to alleviate summer heat and humidity.

Only visited Florida for about a month when I was a teen. It was a fantastic experience, I loved it, beautiful memorable trip through the southern states. I have clear memories and have always thought that someday I would return to Florida. (The weather I remember then was hot, dry but every afternoon a rainstorm)

Re: heat
I've Been to Tampa FLA,an awful lot over the years for my work.Being a water baby loving boats and anything to do with water,I have come to realize the humidity is completely different near the water. The rate vapor condenses is very different near a body of water..You want humidity head inland you will find it easy..wierd thing about Fla is I've felt the coastal breeze 30 miles inland ,remember about how wide this state is.
Wierd thing?I think Michigan has had more humidity then FLA this year, course we are no strangers to it either tho.
Of Course I will be Crying soon enough about Icy roads and cold winds....

Re: heat
Yup Ash...snow forcast here for Sunday....not alot of humidity around here, but Vancouver gets that alot , as they are at sea level, and reacieve the pineapple express from Hawaii, which explains the 60 inches of rain they get in a year.
