See That's why you should have come to the shore for the summer. It is cool today after yesterday's storms. I actually made a cup of hot tea and shut my ac so I could warm up this morning. Its a great day to go out. As a matter of fact I am going out to dinner tonight with my kids and then might hang out at my sons bar for a while since its so nice out. Its outside and I think there is a band tonight. Yep I think that is the plan.

Ya, seems like its harder to get a reply, like a thank you, when I mail ppl with a simple "Welcome, good luck" deal. I send naughty notes to others, knowing I am not at all what they seek, and rarely do I get a "not what I am looking for". Being honest, seems like we are on slow down mode. But I do agree that the weather is ripe for out door activity. We just have to hang in there till it gets going good again.

They did so well last year being the first summer (the prior year they did three EVENTS} they were open I think it started as 4 days a week and kept growing,and has so many requests to open 7 days a week they really went all out this year. They did a lot of improvements to the site and made it a more permanent set up. The response has been overwhelming and so far the weather has really been cooperating. Although they have canopies and some coverage the weather can really kill them. They made lemon-aid from lemons and now have rain specials. If the place is open and it starts to rain it becomes like a big party.( I should say bigger party) as long as its safe to do so. They have all these great things.It's a lot of fun.

Where else can you go hear a band, or watch a movie or sports or play video games on a 27' HD screen. Or play giant Jenga, giant connect four, giant beer pong and a bunch more. Even the liquor companies have gotten in on the game thing and outdoor theme and gave them all kinds of beach chairs and a giant game. Bands beg to play there which shocks me because its relatively small and they can't pay a lot.They also do a lot of charity type parties and fundraisers for locals that need help.I'm really impressed by what they have done in a very short time.Not just from a mother point of view but from a former advertising and marketing executive I can tell you that many businesses can take lessons from him and his partners.But hey are also willing to put the time and effort to do it all and that's rare these days.Most just open the doors and believe the "build it and they will come" nonsense.It takes commitment.

Just a little side note there is a commercial that ran down here for YEARS that came on and said "Hey! where did everybody go?" So it kind of made me chuckle when I saw the thread.So many people would say that like the "where's the beef" thing for the Jersey Shore.

When I first got here, this place seemed bustling with lust and fun.

Now it seems that it is a ghost town

Sigh.... I just wanted to 69 for the day....

I was thinking how you described it being such a party when it rains and I had an idea. Does he own the area where the outdoor bar gets setup, or is it just permitted/rented? If he owns it, have him look into setting up a bunch of lighting rods in the area. As long as they're grounded properly and no one can touch any of the metal on them, it will make that area much safer and will eliminate the need for the judgement call for if the rain isn't safe. Plus a good lightning storm would be kinda awesome to witness there!
