Amuzing
First, I don't think that theft is a good thing. It's just sometimes, the things taken make ya wonder.-------

Someone stole the anchor from in front of a Long John Silvers in Sioux Falls,SD last night. It weighs about 50 pounds and is about 4 feet tall.

Re: Amuzing

I took some orange contstruction cones once it seems for a friend. I don't know why he didn't take them, he was there.

I collect sometimes, restuarant cutlery. Still have the Outback knife from my birthday dinner many years ago. This one is wooden, the new ones are plastic. And a few glasses and plates when I waitress at the Country Club.

Oh, and I guess finally, table and chairs from the days bartending at Sandy Bottoms.

Re: Amuzing
People steel for many reasons. That anchor sounds like a dare type of thing. I have a real issue with thieves. I wont go into the long story as to why and how I raised my kids so that I would insure they wouldn't steal things. I can say that I have never intentionally stoll anything and even gone back to a store when they have not rang up something in my cart.

Re: Amuzing
In my young and stupid days, the local newspaper printed a story about a scarecrow that couldn't be stolen. The huge color picture displayed on the front page showed, two Doberman dogs looking vicious. All I could think was, "they are asking me to try, yep, that's what they're doing..." Like Tom Cruise in those Mission Impossible movies I planned out and extricated the dummy from the front porch, with ultra- precision. None of my posse were hurt in the heist, and the dogs made out like bandits, with the steaks I bought them. I didn't see a follow up story in the paper the next day. I wonder why?...

I'm rather surprized that they didn't run the story of " unstealable scarecrow stolen."

Why did they need Doberman"s and a scarecrow? Were the Doberman's for the scarecrow?

The people owned the dogs and the scarecrow. The photographer caught a picture of them both on the front porch at the same time, a perfect photo op. It made for a good Halloween story.

Re: Amuzing
The anchor was found and is being returned to Long John Silvers. Amazingly, now they claim it weighs 100 lbs.--hehe

The LJF manager said that they are going to install a camera to watch it. I'd think they'd weld a couple of rods on it and set thosoe in concrete.
