Recent absence
I've haven't been online much lately, my father had a terrible fall and severly broke his neck. Odds of him living through the accident and the surgery were slim, but pleased to say that now he's recovery in rehab center and doing very well. He's nearly 84, still tough and strong.

Re: Recent absence
sorry to hear that Chazzy....but we are glad he is doing better, our thoughts are with you and your family, I am sure he'll be kicking and screaming again real soon. He's an old farmer, they don't make them that tough anymore, and he is fortunate to have you there in his time of need

Re: Recent absence
Thank you for letting us know Chazzy he is doing well. My grandfather, born in 1900, was as strong as an ox You could see the muscles in his stomach, well in his 90's. I know my gf father is in his 70's, he took a fall down the stairs injuring L-1 verterbrae, then he fell in the bathroom, and broke leg. They had to repair his leg with cords and cables before they could do back surgery. He quit breathing during the surgery, but after 3 blood tranfusions, he gained color and on the mend. Just very stressful.

Re: Recent absence
Amazing when someone has a will to live they don't give a damn what the doctors say. I always believed it is up to the person themselves. I've known people that willed themselves to die and I've known some to will themselves to live. Fortunately your father seems to be the kind to will himself to live. Best wishes to him and your family.

Re: Recent absence
Sorry to hear of your father's accident. So very glad he has made recovery and is continuing to do so. You know when you're not around it's just not the same . I too, have been back on the not around list. My mother recently had some surgery, is in a rehab center for therapy so I have daily been back and forth. I miss not being around to chat. But Chazzy glad things are easing up a bit for you. We do miss you and your comments when you're gone.

Really sorry to hear about your dad. Hope he's doing well. Falls at older ages can be very damaging. Hips and such.

Re: Recent absence
He's home now, I spent the day cleaning his patio and deck, he loves being outside.
He was torn up for sure, we (family, doctors and surgeons0 are gratefully amazed how well he is recovering.

Re: Recent absence
Thank you!
Yeah, I'm still pretty tied up with caregiving, it's looking like hubs will need another surgery, and my parents need all the help they can get.
