I'm sure not everyone has see the cover of Time. It was brought to my attention through a friend. My main question is, "When exactly would be his dinner time? Or, is it a afternoon snack, dessert?" Seriously!!! From the size of the kid, he is being feed real food, so?
Okay.. so it is pretty disgusting to me. My friend's opinion.. read on.

Wow interesting response...In many countries this is not as strange as you would think. Would wide average age to wean off the child from breast feeding is between ages 3 and 4years of age. I know people here that do this as well. I am all for breast feeding. Personally I can't imagine going past 2 years but I do understand the reasons some feel different.I found that as soon as my kids cut teeth, that was enough for me for the most part. I went longer with my daughter but she didn't bite.
Having a family member that is into this lifestyle.(Although let me clarify. Only she is and not the father.She also only does what makes her look like super mom to outsiders in her eyes.)It's not the nursing that's the issue. It's a whole lifestyle. They don't potty train. They let the child decide when to stop wearing diapers. The "co-sleep" all in the same bed as long as the children want to. They nurse as long as the child wants to. Yes they eat food as well.There is more too this but you get the idea I'm sure. They feel it creates a more nurturing and loving environment. Personally I see spoiled kids that still drink from bottles and/or nurse at school age. No one seems to get a single good nights sleep. The kids are still in diapers so many schools wont take them.
I know some people that follow this in a more realistic form. Meaning they take some of the ideas and work with them , and that seems to work well. But they have limits, whereas the lifestyle is all about letting the child decide when.
I don't think having the child nursing at almost 4 is so horrible, although I think being that we live in a judgmental society that it should be more private for the child's sake.There are some real health benefits to nursing. But the child has to deal with the world around him and although he shouldn't have to hide it he shouldn't be put on display either. I am sure there is a point that the health issue is no longer a factor. I remember hearing a doctor talk about this on a show about breast feeding. I believe it was age 4 or 5 that the child would gain nothing by continuing to nurse and at that point like any animal that nurses, the child should be weaned off.You need to take physical and emotional well being into account. By 4 or 5 the child had done a tremendous amount of developing in a relatively short time.After that age they start to slow down a bit.Just because we find it unacceptable in our country and in the year 2012, is not really the reason she should not nurse her child.

As in Kiss's response, that is, in my opinion as well is, nothing short of child abuse. Times allowing, and publishing, this crap, is a simple example of an older topic I posted, "Intellegence or wisdom". Even I have more wisdom than these collective brains at Time. Wisdom wins again huh?
