Celestial Events
Hope you all were able to check out the super moon a few nights ago,Nights like that i really miss having a lover close just laying on a blanket staring into the sky..
I am infatuated by celestial gawking, some years back i can remember setting in front of my welding shop with my brother both holding welding hoods up watching the eclipse.musta looked pretty sharp to people passing by.lol
just the same whether the mayans calender ends us or whatever, Im excited about the planetary alignments coming soon..I think we are gifted to witness such an event, hopefully not the last cool thing we see.

Yes... a young lady and I agreed to view the moon,at the same time, at it's brightest at 8:35 my time, I was busy fighting a forest fire, and had to break a date with her....that moon at 8:35 half hidden by a mountain ,was so damn bright i could read my forestry map without a light. It was kinda nice to know that although we were apart, we both were looking at the same moon , at the same time.

Re: Celestial Events
I'm a bit of a geek.I grew up with brothers that had telescopes. One even built one. It was really interesting watching the process. I watched how he made the mirror. It was a very long and slow process but interesting. We had a house in the mountains so we had a great opportunity to sky watch.
My daughter was in the science and astronomy club in school and I loved going to some of their events with her. I even know a real rocket scientist. My brother did some work with with NASA and he got to bring all kinds of stuff from that home for my kids.
If you really want a fun and interesting as well as educational experience go to the Challenger air and space museum and do the shuttle or other space mission they offer. I love it! As a matter of fact I am going to AZ with Kam and his daughter and would love to take them there.
One of my favorite things I got to see was an amazing meteor shower while staying on a friends boat over one weekend. The sky was so clear and I remember I slept on deck instead of the cabin so I could watch it until I fell asleep.
I still go to planetariums when I'm able. I know I'm a geek but I don't care.

Re: Celestial Events
I was busy, but viewed at the time I read, 11:35. The sky was clear and the moon so bright! I'm not sure if it was me, or the brightness, but rather than see a clear globe, the moon looked exceptional and glowing, so almost like I was seeing blurred or double vision.

Thats what it looks like when you view the moon through the bottom of a tilted up wine glass..
