What are the signs?
what are the signs for you when you really miss someone? If they are a part of your life for whatever reason,and then for circumstances out of your control, you don't have contact with them anymore,say they pass on ,or move ,or live a long distance from you.I for one have had this experience many times,as I live far away from almost everyone,and have little contact with people,and even fewer close freinds.I find that some of them come to mind more than others,in my daily routine.Or certain places or scents remind me of special people or events i have had with them......

I don't know? Hearing, seeing, or remembering will make me think of others When I cry at a movie, I think of my dad. I spend a lot of time with him on the weekends, and we'd watch T.V. I always knew he would enjoying watching. My head is alway full of so many memories.
But, I'm cold hearted creature, and don't really miss too many people.

The signs are sex... after having lots of sex, I can never get enough, and can't stand to be away from that person for very long. And, I can be a little jealous at times, only you'd never hear me say anything. I'd just walk away.

Many times a song makes me think of a person or an event. As for missing people I care about.... Some days are harder than others. Many times I will see my children do something and think Wow if my dad could only see that he would have laughed. Or I wish they knew my great-grandmother because she was one of the most insight-full and smart people I have ever known.Or my great uncle who had the best sense of humor and the mind of a genius.
Of course there are the people that are still with us that I miss because of many reasons. Like my best friend who I have known since third grade but we have such different lives and find it hard to get together many times. But we still catch up and call each other when the important things are there, like one of us needs to cry or laugh or even just explode about something that is so exciting but only we would get it.Or just because we saw something that made one of us think of the other and we call the other even if its 1:00AM.
And then there is the kind of missing someone like the man you love who lives to far away to see everyday. But you wish you could be there every morning when you wake up.I think everything that happens makes me think of him. A smell, a song, something I tasted at a restaurant, or some really goofy line in a movie that I just know he would understand. Squirrel.......

I so miss my little bro...the first Christmas after losing him, I was in an antique store and there was this perfect gift for him and I grabbed it up, then put it back down realizing he wasn't here anymore. A lot of moments like that even now.
I call my family often, but I miss the freedom to just go and visit them.
I miss the time of my life on the farm when it seemed so perfect, I miss the man I left there but when it goes bad, it's gone, it's the good memory I have of something that ended badly.

Never forget, never let go, I won't. I still have his hard drives, I would never install them to look what's there. I don't need to, there's just something about knowing he and I were some much alike aboutour computers and iternet, knowing that his writing projects in process are there, his every random search thought is in there. So it's weird that I still have those hard drives

Chazzy, I understand how you feel. I remember how sweet Sam was, a look he gave me, his smile, or hurt, or him trying to understand. OH, and his laughter. He was a funny kid. He would come to my room and tell jokes for hours, always saying, "I got one more". He use to answer the phone and talk to my friends, or follow us around. And, he was the cool one for two reason. One, When everyone was putting me down, he thought a lot of me and admire me down to earth and honest. Also. he could keep a secret, unlike my uptight older brother.
I still have a few of Sam's things. A very old Charlie Brown bath towel, a cup, a straw hat, a shirt, a sailor's hat, his skate board, and a few of his cassette tapes. After he passed, I had to drive his car back home. I know the last song he listened was by Men At Work.
He passed at 18, so young. He was just beginning to live life and gain some independence, although his shit head older brother want to rule over him. He was a good sweet kid, and I'm glad for all the times he ate my leftover prime rib, and cashed and spent my paycheck.

For Me Everytime I go hunting ,Fishing and Boating Without Dad,i used to take him everytime I went,All these things bring back memories,your mind tends to drift and Its easy to get lost in the thought,I have close friends that are far away sometimes firing up the grill or tossing horseshoes they spring to mind.

For me its seeing a diamond pattern on a hat band,reminds me of a old cowboy i knew when i was a kid,or a old 30-30 i now have,that was willed to me by an old saddle maker,i've never brought myself to fire it,just hung it up over my front door.Next to that gun is a old shotgun willed to me by a old bear hunter i knew,his casket lies under the soil on my mountain under his favorite tree.There is a meadow that i ride through every 2 or 3 weeks thats named after a girl I met and still talk to,theres a little pond in it that grows wild cranberries,reminds me of the smell of her long hair....all my houses and barns are built with logs ,when i use my old broadaxe to flatten them I think of my grandfather,and his skill with log building tools and hewn timbers,and what he passed on to me,in his knowing quiet way.When i use my old draft for whatever purpose, I think of my dad and my people so far away,still using their giant horses,as beasts of burden and caring for them as part of their family.....I suppose I have the same triggers for some bad memories as well,but come to think of it, the good far out weigh the bad..I have scars on my body that remind me of a few terrible times in my life,and a few that represent happy memories as well.I don't believe in shrines,but i do have many possesions tucked away and displayed in my house that meant something to many people in my life,and for some reason when they pass on or move, I end up with them,my house now looks like a museum,filled with old things,saddles ,axes ,guns,knives and antique furniture.....the other day i realized that I was the only one who knew all of their stories

For me it's grandpa, "Pupa" as we all called him. The signs are wrestling and pomegranates. When I was wee little, my pupa would lay on the floor with me and watch wrestlers like, "Chief Jay Strongbow vs. Jimmy the Superfly Snooker." I used to lay on his stomach. I was seven. The pomegranates were something he used to call his secret weapon.
He would take my sisters and I to the penny-candy-store and give us each of us 50 cents. With small brown bags, we'd walk the whole back with smiles on our faces and he with a pomegranate. Nana would see us with a bag full of sugar and take it away from us, locking it in a cabinet for later. He'd cut up the pomegranate and give each of us a piece. Anyone who knows what these tasty fruit looks and tastes like can tell you, "they stain anything they come in contact with!" While Nana would chase us kids around with a wash cloth and soap, Pupa would sneak back into the house and unlock our bags of candy, so later became sooner.

Ah Sybie, I love that antique stuff. Even if I didnt know the previous owners, I love to look at the peeling, scractches, dents, wear patterns and just kinda "read" the history in it.
GG, I do love good grandpa/ma stories, never knew my own, never gonna be one but I love grandparent stories.

I am a very sensory person so certain smells will always send me in an instant back into a memory of the person I connect it to.
Be that a friend I have lost touch with or a family member who is no longer here. The scent of roses will always be the scent of my mum.
Also music makes me break sometimes, with a song or a daft poem bringing things flooding back
