the story i just read is that back in the late 60's a couple of high school student overheard that a Coast Guard member couldn't attend to his marijuana plants anymore, so they decided to search for it. they set up the time of 4:20 pm. and to remind themselves, they would say "4:20" to each other when they would pass in the halls of school. one of the students dad had connections with "the Grateful Dead", and they must have overheard the boys talking about 4-20 and started using it to reference pot smoking.
it's also believed that the term "4/20" is in reference to the fact that the police code for marijuana in California is 420.

It's pretty common for someone to slip in a little mention of 420 in a profile, I don't pay much mind to that. It's subtle.
Ran across an account here one morning, all the guy talked about on his profile was how he was such a great grower.
He had a lot of photos of his growing op, processing the crop, and showing off his finished buds by posing with them. Yep, full face.
Figured a dumb ass like that would get himself busted pretty quick , might as well delete his account cuz he wouldn't have internet in jail anyway.
