Re: Your first place
Small apartment above a hair salon. One bedroom, kitchen, living room and bathroom. It was cute but it had a bus stop right in front so a bit loud.It was also about half a block from my old intermediate school so lots of kids around during the day. Not the quietest place for someone who liked to sleep late. The kitchen came furnished and I had my bedroom furniture but only a twin size bed. The only things I had in my living room were a wing chair and my stereo. The best thing about the apartment was the 4 really hot guys living in the other apartment in the building. The worst thing about it was if you wanted to shower while the salon was open, there was a good chance you were going to be taking a cold shower. They shared a hot water heater and they used all the hot water washing customers hair and washing towels. But at least I had no roommates.

Re: Your first place
I graduated a year early, at 16, and left at 17 to begin school. We didn't have much money, and obviously not prepared.
During orientation, we kinda located a girl Stacey, and somehow agreed to become roomates. It was so long ago, and I guess she already had the apartment. It was not far from the school, and I did not have a car. It was a nice 2 bedroom apart with access to a pool. And, I guess it was rented furnished?
Well, Stacey was a brat! Tall, blonde, and pigeon toed. Her boyfriend, and friends from her hometown would come and party, and when ever I left and then came back, something was always missing. There was an altercation one day, with her boyfriend pulling her out of the living room, and after Christmas break I moved out.
I moved in with a another girl I went to school with, Katie. She was in FL, down from PA. And, we shared a one bedroom apartment. Gosh, I guess that was furnished. It had a couch in front of the TV, and a big bed. A table in the kitchen. I never remember her moving it out. She didn't stick it out. She was 18 and had a boyfriend Brandon back home. She kept a picture of her giving him head with her. She moved home
George offered to let me stay with him till I finished school. He lived in another apartment complex, and had a 1 bedroom upstairs. When she moved, my dad came and got me, taking me back home, but I hadn't finished school. I remember telling my parents I was going back to finish, period. So I moved into George's place. He worked at the complex, and went to school. He took the couch, and gave me the bedroom. You walked in, and the kitchen was on the right, bedroom on the right, living area in front. I don't know who furnished it. The bedroom was nice and big.
I did have a surprise one night. George's twin brother and a friend came up, making a suprise visit. I woke up one morning to find the extra guest sacked in the living room, with my one of bed pillows. Seems, they had no clue about me, and George was not happy. He told them to never come back.
So, I finished my month or two of school. George left town for a trip, and my family all came over for my graduation. And, that Stacey girl, she had moved in with 3 other girls from school. It is my understanding she stole from them, and after graduation, they chasing her down to take it out of her hide.

Re: Your first place
My best friend convinced me to move in with him and another guy. Two weeks later, He met his first wife and moved in with her. I was left with a guy I didn't know very well and the other guy became demanding. I lived with him for almost a year, before moving back to my parents and meeting my first live in girlfriend. I look back on the whole situation and laugh at the antics that played out there.

Re: Your first place
I forgot about how young I was. I was also 17 when I moved out. Although the first few weeks I would go food shopping at my parents house. It was much cheaper than Pathmark.lol I was working full time and doing a little modeling so fortunately I was able to go shopping at a regular supermarket after a few weeks. Besides a woman in NY didn't go hungry very often. Those where the days when guys still took you to dinner and paid the bill.In all fairness the dinner bills were not as bad as they are now.

Re: Your first place
Mine was a military barracks also. None of us liked our new hair cuts or the fact we had to get up at with drill Sgt hitting the top of garbage can lid at the weeee hours of the morning.

Exactly, that's why I wrap my head in a aluminum foil hat when we're online at the same time.

That's funny, cuz there is a guy in the next town that actually did that, my brother who was sheriff at the time found him in a tree, wrapped from head to toe in aluminum foil to protect himself from the rays that the martians were shooting at him....lmao true story

Re: Your first place
Small Resort chain of A frames converted to affordable college rentals, they where old and worn cabins The biggest room was the bedroom, then a kitchenette, and bath. but located 15 feet from a river,For a college kid it was extremely cool, considering coming from a poor farming family and paying my own way,It was great living off campus i could get away with murder in that hut ..
