Wussification - Freensleazy's Rant, Part ll
The other day, I turned onto a local road and there was a school bus in the right lane. It stopped 14 times at individual homes in a stretch of less than a mile. Each time, it was a HIGH SCHOOL kid that got out and walked up the driveway. If it was a 5 year old, I could understand it. But the constant stop and go, wasting fuel, wearing on the brakes, and school taxes going up. Sorry, these kids arent babies. But as long as theyre treated that way? Theyre going to act like babies!
Now as always, there's going to be people that disagree with me, I get that. I just think too many things go too far.

I think, just guessing off the top of my head, it might have something to do with insurance liability?
I grew up in a very small town, only the children from the outer farm and rural areas rode the bus, the buses didn't make many stops in town, all the kids walked, and most 16 years or older worked hard at summer and after school jobs to get their own car.
I do love the small town life.

we live in a subdivision, all us kids walked a block to the corner buss stop grade school and high school rain or snow. but i do agree on a main hyway every 1/4 mile is a lot of stopping.

I know every generation probably thinks the youguns are spoiled but the day after Christmas on a humor site, someone compliled all the whinings posted from teens on their facebook walls having meltdowns about the gifts they got.
One was having a tantrum cuz her parents got her a car, but they didn't get her a new phone. Most we teens spittin' mad because the new phone they got as a gift wasn't the one they asked for.
It was funny, but sad.

back in the days we were lucky to get a car and phones, i was lucky to have a CB in the car...even when i watch all the kids heading to the store, just about everyone has a phone nowadays,whether that's good or bad i guess its ahorse apiece.

i walked a 1/4 mile driveway to wait for the bus, whit the neighbor kids that lived in the house next door. their house was about 1/2 a block from the end of my drive way. and right off the road. when it was cold out, they would sit in the house and wait for the bus to stop, then come running out screaming "wait for us" at the last minute. yet they never invited my sisters and i inside where it was warm to wait for the bus. but we are MINNESOTANS, we were tough, walked that 1/2 mile in -30 temps with 7 layers on clothing on, ski masks and scarves, and mittens under the gloves....

that was back in the day when a normal winter saw at least three feet of snow on the ground from the end of October through the beginning of May. nowadays we get more than three inches at a time, and the kids all freak out. the snowbanks left by the plow made my driveway seem like i was walking in a tunnel.

I went to school in nyc. Staten Island to be more exact for most of it. We walked 2 or 3 blocks to the regular city bus stop took the bus.We would get off and walk about 4-5 blocks to intermediate school. In high school we took 2 buses then walked up a big ass hill. That was a real joy in winter. If it was icy we normally had to get off the first bus that rarely made it up the first hill in ice then meet the NOW empty bus at the top get back on take that to where we would transfer then take the next bus to the regular stop at the south ferry then walk that big hill to the school.Those who went to high school in Manhatten from Staten Island did the first 2 buses then a ferry then a subway then walked a few blocks. The only kids that had school buses were the elementary schools if they lived more than a mile from school.
Where I live now they all have school buses. Most have bus stops within a 1/4 mile from their home. The issue is as someone said insurance.If the kid has no sidewalks like on my street. Then sometimes if deemed dangerous then the driver would go to the house. They are not allowed to vary from the assigned route or stop unless directed to do so for safety or police directive.

To be redundant, and silly, I remember, having to walk, all the way across the room, to change channels, on the tv. No shit. And it was in color, B and W. Oh my, no one wants to know how the ole perve got back and forth to the old wooden school. Totally differerent world,

Ok, here's another thing that REALLY pisses me off. There's a commercial running currently. It's a young kid, about 15 or 16 talking about the importance of going to college. The back drop is about him talking about his "art" and how he looks up to past artists for his inspiration. It shows him standing outside in front of the brick wall of a building with cans of spray paint creating his "art". They spin the whole commercial into the importance of cultivating creativity in young people and how college is an important part of that.
STOP!!!! Unless that kid owns that building or has a legal document allowing him to spray paint his mess all over it by the owner of the building, he should be arrested for vandalism. "Art" my ass! Its friggin graffiti that defines the declination of neighborhoods

I went for a simple fucking haircut a few days ago.
The young lady was busy twittering on her I Phone as I sat down in the chair.
I took for granted she was listening to me, and I said "Real short in the back, a little longer on top "...." but NOT a Jarhead..!"
She put down her handheld device, flicked on her clippers and I felt the breeze hit the back of my head, after four passes.....her mouth was open, and she looked in the mirror at me and said,with a very worried look on her face.. ...."You said you wanted a Jarhead cut right ? "
Well my reply after politley swearing under my breath was "Oh for shit sakes...Well I geuss its a little late now ....Go for it "
So I'm sporting the trendy Jarhead- Refugee look,....it feels like I'm rubbing a velcro strip on the pillow at night, and I could scrub Free's burnt on spahgetti off of the bottom of a pot with my temples.
This shit always happens to me...AND I still paid her!!

I can top the bus stopping... My father used to drive a bus for the school system in Massachusetts. One of the buses is equipped with seat belts. Ever try to get 5 to 7 year olds to sit still let alone put on a seat belt?! He told me that the belts were all monitored by a master panel. When they would pull up to a stop and the kid would unbuckle, a light on that panel would blink. He'd push the buttons until all was either shut off or still lit. By law, if the light blinked for any reason, you had to immediately stop, and check the belt physically, which proves difficult to kids who won't sit still with a belt on. Imagine, sitting in traffic with a bus in front of you and nobody gets off or on before it proceeds to the next stop?...

O.K.....so I have to rant about these fuckers..
This past year I.S.I.S. the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, released a statement.
They used a guy with pop bottle glasses and looked like he just started shaving.. I guess he wasn't wearing a black jumpsuit and mask, and didn't swing on the monkey bars right that day, so he was voluntold for the job...
The statement was as follows from the squeaky voiced little freak..
"Canada we have already attacked you, we are coming for you, and you cannot hide"
Since when has the world looked at us Canadians as Wussies to randomly threaten in the world media?
These little turd hursts are managing to get female reporters cell phone numbers here in Canada, and threatening them .Their followers that sympathize with them are murdering soldiers here on our sacred ground....These are the same cowards who are hacking body parts off tied up innocent people ,just because they come from countries other than their own. Even Al Kaida, ...or however the fuck spell check says its spelled... has condemned their actions as barbaric.
Well as a Veteran of the Campaign against the Taliban, a red blooded Canadian, and a general red neck { I've spent a lot of time on the back of a horse and tractor,...so my neck is in fact red}....The only thing we Canadians are going to hide behind when you decide to show your Wussie faces in our Great White North.....Is a damn rifle sight.

And you guys wonder why we women think your so hot....I love that people are standing up yo these extremests. The real terrorism comes after the attacks in many cases. The acts are horriable of course but, the thing is, they want to have us shaking in our boots, wondering what's coming next and when. We can't give into that. The low life's of the world need to know that they might succeed in killing some of us, but in general they wont defeat us. We will continue to live the lives we choose to live our way! And thank you to all the military men and women who volunteer to keep us safe as possable.
