new wave.....
Looks like a new wave of scamgirls just hit this site. I got messages from 3 yesterday and 1 today.
Just in case anyone's unsure of what to keep an eye out for, if a female user contacts you out of the blue, 21-24 years old, new user, no pic, and asks you to add her to a messenger service or contact her on an outside e-mail address, it could be a scamgirl. She is trying to lure you off the site so she can convince you to join another personals site (which you will have to pay for in order to use) or to sign up for a sex webcam site (which she will tell you is free, but will actually require you to input credit card information).
Report these messages using the link at the bottom of the message.

Re: new wave.....
Yes Andy, thanks.. a good PSA. Not to mention once they have your e-mail they may hack your friend's email information. HATE THAT!

Re: new wave.....
Any spam in your inbox should be reported by the link at the bottom of the message.
Each profile also has a report link at the bottom of the page if you notice someone has profile content that needs edited, such as email or other contact info.
You can use this profile link to also report a camgirl.
A lot of you may remember that we did have a problem awhile back with someone, who I'm sure their intentions were good, but was a bit overzealous and was using the profile link to report any woman that they thought might be a camgirl.
If you have been solicited and are certain the member is a camgirl, then please report. It's very helpful if you also take a minute and send a moderator the username. Again, most of you who have been here awhile know that we add the name to a list so all moderators know who to watch for in the chatrooms so we can quickly ban them out and monitor them online until unf logs in to delete the profile.
If you think a profile belongs to a camgirl, but you're not sure and have not been directly solicited, write a moderator with the username, we will check it out.

Re: new wave.....
I thought this was about new ways of greeting people... was just going to show off my wave where I spin my arm around for two minutes at people.

I am sure that would work nicely!

Re: new wave.....
New York and California too, but an IP check sometimes will show Philipines as their actual location, or the IP will be a proxy server from some webhost site that caters to spammers.

Re: new wave.....
They are everywhere but use locations that they think will get them a better response sometimes. They can put anything they want as Chazzy said the reality is very different. You would think that being most are wise to their games, they would start to come up with a few more creative ideas on getting clients. I guess intelligence and creativity are not their strong points.

Andy, I'm not sure what in here you think is "undermining" to you but I would be the first to say if I think a Mod has overstepped. I don't see anything except advice on how to deal with the cam girls if you come across them. This is a standard post from Chazzy or others when they read people are having issues with cam girls. Sorry if this offends you but lately it seems you have been complaining about being attacked every time you post. If you are that sensitive and don't want to have people answer your posts good or bad at times. (Most times are positive on here. ) then maybe you should not post or be on a site that allows that to be done. I know I am getting tired of you acting like you are a victim here when it seems to be you that is always saying the negative things.I get both positive and negative to my posts I answer or not and I decide to stay on here or not. You have the same choices.

Re: new wave.....
I don't see anything in my post asking for advice. I was passing on the information I had that I've been given in order to assist other members who may not have been signed up at that point. I did not see any post, let alone by a moderator, about the new influx of scam mailers, and I'm sure I wasn't the only one. But my post gets undermined by a moderator who barges in and takes control of the whole thing as if it was her idea in the beginning.
Newbie, I don't know where you saw anyone posting anything positive about my posts when I was trying to get involved in the forums. All I know is once I started posting, a number of users (mostly female) started criticizing my opinions and basically taking any enjoyment out of the forums.
I know I'm not the only user on this site who sees it, but the users who were lucky enough to know about this site years ago have formed their own group and don't treat new users in an all-around welcoming way. Anyone can post a quick little hello and welcome blurb in response to someone's post in the introductions. It's the actions afterwards which make the difference. Just saying that if you're going to welcome someone, be sure that you're really going to make them FEEL welcome.

Re: new wave.....
moderators don't need to post anything here about camgirls. neither does anyone else, all that needs to be done is report them using the link provided, or directly to a moderator. we'll take the appropriate action to deal with it. i'm sure that everyone knows who they are, or will eventually figure it out when they get hit up. it really doesn't make any difference if you made this post to give a heads up or not. most camgirls don't even read the forums, and don't care. and i'm not criticizing you about it. i'm just stating a fact. by stating "I did not see any post, let alone by a moderator, about the new influx of scam mailers, and I'm sure I wasn't the only one....you've given me the impression that we moderators are not doing our jobs in battling with the influx of camgirls. but how can we, when no one is reporting them to us. you make it seem like you've been approached more than once by a cam girl, yet this is the first i've even heard about this. instead of ranting about it in the forums, send a moderator a message (you can message ME anytime about it)
