I have to admit, I've been known to have that attraction for the "bears"

I was talking to a man yesterday and he told me he was what's known as a "bear" in the gay community - a large hirsute homosexual man. And sometimes he feels marvellous about his powerful physique but at other times he gets depressed and wishes he conformed to a more stereotypical gay body shape. He asked me if I understood...

Yep, 5tar got it right with the gay community that a bear is a large man.
Bear, has always meant for the female hetero community, a large man and most usually, a fuzzy large man, beard, hairy chest, stuff like that...we liken them to a teddy bear, a comfort of safety and sexy too.
