sometimes its hard
to pick a topic and get us all talking... should we be like other sites, with groups and there are no topics for months,even when ya try , they all are sitting on their duffs

You're easy to talk to, I love everything you post.
If we start trying to only go for topics because we are trying so hard to please too many others, it loses its flow and charm.
I love to log in and browse just to see what's going on with everyone.
I love the spontaneity of reading whatever happened to pop into someones mind.
Forums shouldn't seem forced, but just have a natural flow to them.
It's not the topics, sometimes it's us...sometimes people look at a topic and think it's boring, but if we're so creative, we could take any topic at all, and create a great and lively conversation out of it.
I wouldn't want you to change for anyone, ash.

Actually I like that this site is different like that. It is also a smaller community (for lack of a better way to say it.)You can't blame anyone if the threads don't appeal to you. Just start one that does. That's the beauty of this. I have been surprised at some that became a huge hit and other that didn't.
I think some people like to post in threads but don't feel confident enough to start a thread. I wish there was a way to tell those people that they should try, that on this site generally you wont be attacked if you post things. People will either add to it or not. If you get a nasty comment, most times everyone jumps on the person that got nasty.

That's exactly why the topic "USING THE FORUMS...THE BASICS" is a sticky topic at the top of every forum.
It's easy to read a forum, but for a noob, posting can be something they hesitate on. I've heard it hundreds of times.
"I would post, but I don't understand how it works, I don't know how, I've never posted on a forum before"
Also on my profile is the statement...
"Check out the forums....topics range from hobbies, sports, music, TV, jokes, polls, creative writing, sex and fetishes! "
That is on my profile to encourage noobs who may not want to share sexually explicit part of themselves right off, they see they can mingle a bit, ease into it, get to know the site and the people better and maybe feel comfortable enough to post.
Any of you who log in regularly and know that your profile gets checked out a lot, may want to add something similiar to your profile, It would be appreciated very much. (Hell, too lazy to type your own, copy and paste mine, I don't care)

Just adding, none of you need to change a thing about the way you post, those that don't have an interest in your topics should be posting their own, not criticizing others.
I sure wouldn't want to see Ash, OOMG, perv or anyone else here trying to conform to what someone else wants, I love what you all do, a lot of us do...we would be missing out if you changed.

i myself even get tongue tied on some topics, i would like to add to them but i get a blank sometimes. someone else come and adds to it and then I'm really tongue tied

I don't think the topics are such a big problem, some have talked about the old days, the way it use to be, how much more fun it use to be...
I remember those days too, someone could pop in and say something like "I ate two bowls of Lucky Charms this morning" and it would spark a fun conversation.
I don't really think it's always topics that are lacking, it's the effort and interaction in the replies, they all can be an opportunity that we are missing.
Hell, I can post a topic of total cheesy dribble and Wandering can always give it a good turn! I enjoy that!

Most of the time if someone cares about if the topic stays on target then it gently gets guided back that way. We tend to have a lot of just silly threads to get things rolling on here. Sometimes even if the intent is to stay on a more serious topic something even more important either starts or spins off to another thread.

lately it seems i kill a thread if i reply, once i reply, the topic is dead, maybe my point of view isnt popular, perhaps the voices in my head arent politically correct, but i sure get a kick outta what they have to say sometimes...lol

Threads don't get killed that often, it's rare...if they die it's from natural causes and only a few have a DNR order (that would be the ones with the little padlock icon)
